Game of Thrones: 6.07 - The Broken Man

After 2-3 epsiodes of setting stuff up, anyone else feel it's gettign time for some action?

The last two episodes have certainly been set up episodes, and that there has not been a lot of action so to speak. A lot has happened though, and I think starting with the next episode things are going to get really intense.we have Cersei's situation in King's Landing, Arya's situation, Jaime and the Blackfish, the impending Battle of Winterfell, the impending invasion of the others, Little Finger coming with 'help', Dany gettong ready to finally leave Essos, and Dorne very likely coming north to join up with the Tyrells. Only 3 episodes left with much to still happen.

And a grand WTF? for the GOT appearance of Lovejoy - how much money did Mc Shane get for that?
Previous week was Richard E Grant. Lets expect Sir Ian Holm and Sir Ian Mckellen to appear on the following episodes.

Oh maybe not. Sir Ian Mckellen recently said in Vanity Fair:
....despite his love for The Dresser, McKellen said he wasn’t all that keen to dive further into the world of prestige cable drama. “Let the offer come and then I’ll decide, but I’m not really chasing producers for a bit within Game of Thrones or something.” That’s too bad. After all his years running with Hobbits and Orcs, he might fit right in.

hooray for the return of the hound! boo for the quick execution of lovejoy before he even had a chance to sell some dodgy antiques... i thought the hounds return felt more than a bit rushed, and i'm still a bit clueless as to what (presumably) meribald was doing making a tower in the middle of nowhere. i think this deserved to be spread over a couple of episodes (or at least have the opening scene where the hound drops the log as the last scene of the previous episode).

and is it just me or does it seem highly unlikely the Lem and the brotherhood would do that to those peasants? are we going to see remnants of a band of soldiers being responsible?
like the mad dog of the saltpans in the book?

good to see that margaery hasn't lost her mind. and also good to be reminded by the queen of thorns what a nasty piece of work cersei is. i was almost beginning to get behind her and her mountain

and it will be very interesting to see what happens with arya/not arya...

the jon/sansa storyline was a bit slow this episode but think there's decent action coming there.

loved the jaime/bronn team-up

glad to have a break from sam. he was getting on my nerves. dany too.

i know the season seems to be building, but surely there will be some action next episode? after all, there's only 3 left...

finally, is it just me, or is GOT a bit predictable this season?

I was also disappointed that Ian McShane got killed off so quickly.

As for predictability, i don't agree. I would have predicted none of the following before this season began

Doran Martell being assassinated

Roose Bolton dying so rasily

The Umber betrayal (i still don't think it's true though)

The reveal that it was The Children who created the White Walkers

The whole thing with Hodor

Dany killing all the Khals

Tommen following in the footsteps of Joffrey and screwing up the plan of the Lannisters and Tyrells

Sam stealing Heartsbane

Yara and Theon stealing Euron's fleet

Bear Island having 62 fighting men. :)

The Arya arc, which i think is fascinating

Jaime going back to doing what he loves to do.....being a fighting man

TBWB (if it's really them) turning into murdering scum

I may have left a few things out, but I've been happy with what has suprised me so far this season

Fair enough @The Imp, here is what I did find predictable:

The hound returning
Benjen is coldhands
Brienne saving Sansa and all meeting up with Jon
Bran doing something stupid that meant they had to run from the night king
Dany getting all the Dothraki to fight for her
Arya not killing the person she was meant to
Ramsay killing Roose
Jon not staying dead

The only major plot point that has really come as a surprise was Tommen coming under the control of the high sparrow.

Oh and Dorne. Which was just disappointing...

Hold the door was an awesome reveal but it didn't change the storyline at all.

Yes Arya, let's just walk through the streets in broad daylight and make no attempt to disguise ourselves. What could possibly go wrong? She should know better! I'm hoping this is some clever ruse on her part or the writers have just made her grab hold of the idiot ball for a cheap shock.

It seems out of character of the brotherhood to raid defenseless peasants. They were set up to protect the common folk after all. Me thinks they are raiders pretending to be of the brotherhood.

The Hound said hatred kept him alive. Against who though? Brienne, Arya? Or just in general?

Quite agree - though I'll wait and see what happens. It seemed *too* easy. I like the suggestion before that Arya has set someone up as her, in order to draw attention - because that's exactly what she did, when she should have expected attack. We'll see. :)

Thought Sansa was messaging Littlefinger - but is it possible she was sending to the Blackfish? And thus draw Jaime north, too, with his army? That would be fun. :)
