Amazon Author Pages.

I am not sure how that works, but I do have the same email addy on both. My review name is canadabookguy, not my personal name though

Never had one removed that I know of, but I don't review my own stuff

Hmm, most of my reviews are under my husband's email (our family account). The only one I have under my account is Woodbridge's Lake Manor anthology. Which will probably be a conflict of interests later on down the line since I'll be in two Woodbridge Press publications. Hadn't thought of that; I may email them at some point and ask them to move it to my family account. :)

Meh, if they remove they do I suppose. I'm not sure how deep they are digging.

I leave book reviews from time to time and they've never removed any. The rumour went that it was linked to twitter followers - how they tracked it - and that's now disabled. I don't really know, tbh, but if it's a verified purchase and a balanced review, I haven't heard of many being removed. More and more, I use goodreads to review on now, just in case.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I don't have an account as I never use them. Conscientiously, I might add. ;)

I'll use my usual email address for the author page though.

Thanks for the info

Help me chose a picture ratsy :D

So if you have an author page you can't review books?

No, the problem is that if you have an author page attached to the same account that you use to buy and review books, then some other author can potentially trace back an less-than-glowing review to you, and take revenge with specious bad reviews.

I keep my amazon purchases and my authorial activities strictly separate, and I've only ever bought one item through my author account. I did that because you have to have purchased something in order to reply to posts on your author page. I'm not kidding.

@Phyrebrat I like the biting ladies and children, but the left is cool. I was thinking about your cool hat shot from the other day...or the one with you in your Jedi robe...haha

One reason for having an Amazon Author page is if there are other authors with your name - then it helps readers identify which are your books.

Ouch! Yes, I suppose that's a problem. So the issue isn't Amazon, but potentially readers and other writers.

Wow! Good to know. :)

I review under my own name anyway.
So what are people putting up on their author pages?

So 24 hours after I set up my author page the 2 reviews I had of my book are gone. What's going on?

Looks good Jo! I dont seem to be able to log in and change my picture or details on the UK site. Will have to try to fix this. I see that a lot. I wish they just spoke to eachother

Really annoying that they don't. And that the two platforms offer different stats. @Cathbad - your stuff looks really interesting. I'll have a browse at that over the weekend. :)
