What classic fantasy place would you not want to go to? And why?

Hollywood in Terry Pratchett'a novel Moving Pictures. This book was both hilariously funny and concept wise frightening beyond words. I would not ever want to go that place Discworld not with what was happening in the book and the whole merging of realities and the results. Pratchett had wonderfully comic fantasy writer. But if he had instead opted for Horror, I shudder at what he might have come up with.

The Hungry Moon by Ramsey Campbell The dark well in the town of Moonwell, where resides a nameless horror almost as old as the earth itself . It's been waiting to be freed from the well for a very long time. When I think of certain scenes in that book , The horror music from the old outer limes tv series plays in my head, fits the story , the town and the dark thing down in the well.

The Planet Azlaroc in the Fred Saberhagen's book The Veils of Azlaroc . That place is one of my ideas of what hell would be like. If your on that planet during a phenomenon called Veil fallen which the planets companion star bathes it in a veil temporal energy , You can never leave the planet because you become trapped in the resulting pocket of time. Lots of people from different eras are trapped in that planet together .

Now that I think about it, there is one place I really really don't want to ever go! Where ever the ship the Event Horizon went in the movie! Does the phrase HELL NO!!!! mean anything there? :D:eek:

In some ways it could almost be the Eye of Terror in the Warhammer Universe. It's similar in a number of ways. But the Eye of Terror and the chaos realm in Warhammer universe is far far worse. In the eye Terror the BFG 9000 would do you no good because of the very nature of chaos. you go into they Eye of Terror, your likely to find the gun will not operate or do something other then it's meant to do like blow up on you or come alive and devour what's left of you after you've been warped by the chaos, or even worse , you become merged with the gun.

The Island of Pell in Karl Edward Wagner's novel Darkness Weaves. The Island there remanent of an elder Earth race's city that arose from the seas long ago. The problem is that Race that built it , known as the Scareldi are still around and they have nothing but contempt for the puny humans that live on Pell and The malevolent rulers of Pell are in their thrall, especially the one known as Efrell who is part Scareldi.

Carprona the land in Edgar rice Burroughs Caspack trilogy of novels. The Land That Time Forgot, The People that Time Forgot, Out of Time Abyss . Inhabited by every prehistoric species monster that ever existed, Plus hostile tribes of proto humans, humans and a race of winged overlords who rule over the the Island. It's really not a fun place at all.
