Game of Thrones: 6.09 - Battle of the Bastards

At last - Dany's dragon's take on the slaver fleet! Would have thought she could have done that the previous night/episode. :)

Sansa - really coming into her won. Good point emphasised that she knew Bolton and Jon didn't. And - stupid Jon - he played right into Bolton's hands.

Rickon - we never got close to him in the books so it always seemed likely he'd die - he just wasn't important enough to the story. And too young to have known to zig-zag when someone's aiming a bow at you!

And Jon - idiot, no tactics, played into Bolton's hands. However, I always expected we'd see a cavalry moment, involved either Littlefinger, Tully, or even Jaime.

At last, the plot seems to have gone somewhere with the north. Now if only we could get Dany away from Mereen! There's hope yet after the meeting with the Ironborn, though. :)

I'm glad that the factions have resolved down.

There is obvious opportunity for alliance between Dany and Jon (especially if I got the implications of the flashback right) .

I think the Lannisters are going to go one of two ways. Either Jaime is finally going to accept Cersei is nuts, take control and sue for peace (his look of disapproval would suggest so) or, I think more interestingly, Cersei will somehow ally with the White Walkers. (Perhaps The Mountain will provide an interface between the living and the dead?)

There are the Martells / Tyrells, but I think they will just ally with Dany/Jon otherwise, narratively, they're just complicating things when it should be we're setting up the board for the final showdown.

And then there's the White Walkers... seems pretty clear cut what needs to happen to them at the moment... and it involves dragon glass blades.

If there are going to be only two seasons (which rumor has it is the case). I think we'll get the resolution to uniting Westeros in the next, and then sorting out the White Walkers in the final one.

Sansa showed no emotion as she witnessed Ramsay's demise. I see that a measure of her character's hardening through her experience with the Bolton *******.

You know, it reminded me a lot of the first Bran chapter of GoT, when Jon is like, "You have to watch; Father will know if you don't," and Sansa held her own. I just <3 her so much in the series. If only she could kick so much ass in the books... *Crosses fingers*

Sansa is rapidly becoming my second favourite character as this season has progressed!

The Mother of Dragons! Although I have to admit she took a big dip in seasons 4 and 5 after the highs of season 3 (too much moping about). Back on form now though :)

Despite some flat lines in season 6 surely Tyrion is still everyone's favourite! :-O
