Do discuss!

'Tis the first of the month, and nobody has yet complained at me There - not what you expected? No, I have no idea what 'new weird' is, either, but we will learn together. I believe in you (possible somewhat more than in myself).

And here everyone thought you'd go strange on us. Pfftt. Really nice choice, Chrispy. Brain begins churning.

I've recovered from missing last months vote and feel in need of more recovery after seeing this months! Normally at this point I would shoot someone, but as Chrispy is my unoffical deity (and a lot more active than any offical deities I know of) I'm at a bit of a loss what to do next?

Ah, but I'm a benevolent deity - I don't require human sacrifice (not even an annual maiden) and don't persuade my worshiper to strap on an explosive waistcoat…

And I was confident I wouldn't be winning any more of these challenges (particularly not in verse - just the inverse, infact) so hadn't been heating the cauldron and assembling poisoned entrails.

From good old Wikipedia, so trust it as far as you can throw it.

The genre is "a type of urban, secondary-world fiction that subverts the romanticized ideas about place found in traditional fantasy, largely by choosing realistic, complex real-world models as the jumping off point for creation of settings that may combine elements of both science fiction and fantasy".

Well that makes sense.

He doesn't require it, he demands it.

Why am I commenting like Gollum, my Precious?

As a massive fan of China Mieville, the genre choice for this month is right up my alley full of cactus people and cockroach women.

What the ... what ... whozit?

Oh, lord. I'd better start before the last day, because it will take me a week to figure out the genre.

New weird?

And no I'm not going to google it. Must not google it. Well I Googled it. Yep we will learn together.

I hope the benevolence is inferred but I think I may be on the edge with this one.
