At first I though Avalon Tusk is a derivative of Elon Musk. But then I realized that Elon Musk had simply stolen his name from Aeon Flux.
I don't know if this is appropriate to the thread in general or not, but I really have a hard time talking about characters separate from the plot. It certainly is important to have a personality to check in with as you frame the details. However, your plot IS the development and revelation of the characters, as well as the events. I have a very hard time conceiving of them separately. If the plot truly involves the people in it, then those people need to be what the plot makes them, and not something like that. Thinking of them as individuals with life outside of the story is good, but mainly they need to perfectly fit what the plot needs them to be.
