Discussion Thread -- September 2016 75-word Writing Challenge

Hello, lot's of life happening the past few months. Looking back I don't know how I found the time to participate the way I did back int he spring. Looking forward to a sustainable pace now. Going to post formal introduction soon too. Good Luck All!

reiver33 -- This frightening story demonstrates the immense power of emotion.

mosaix -- In this tale with an unexpected twist we learn that great things can be done by uncertain persons.

ThomasG -- The use of a ritual chant, as in ancient times, contrasts with modern technology in this unique offering.

*Whistles

This is a good'un.

*scurries under nearest rock and starts making cave art.

At first I thought, "this is going to be tough". Then, a few hours later, a light bulb appeared over my head. My idea, like a rabbit without legs, flopped around on the floor for a while, then sprouted eight legs and scurried up the wall.

I wrote it and posted it just now.

Whew. I'll be back later to check out the other tales.

@Starbeast --- That must have been some light bulb! That is a wonderful story. I would never have wanted to experience in person, but you have given stage fright and entertainment a whole new spin! Good job!

Starbeast -- This opera buffa (with a tip of the hat to the giallo) offers amusing proof that beauty is in the eye (and other sense organs) of the beholder.

Thank you Lady Silverwolf for your review. It's always a pleasure to see you commenting on the entries. Keep up the awesomeness.

Thank you Parson for your wonderful comment. I'm looking forward to seeing you join the Pool Party too, my friend.

STAGE FRIGHT
Science Fiction

@Glen - Prepare yourself for the END!!! Our planet has reached it's final stage of climate change. Terrifyingly terrific tale. I hope it's not our true fate.

@Cat's Cradle - Life can be like a stage sometimes, filled with heavy dramatic situations, that can tear at the heart. Exceedingly sad story, but very well written.

@Ashleyne. B. Watts - A chilling entry that makes you wonder if artificial intelligence can be trusted. A mechanized treat, geared with perfection.

@Wruter - A sci-fi "Phantom of the Opera" styled story! This masked man should have let his lover watch a few adult anime movies, before his reveal. Wonderful version.

@Victoria Silverwolf - Another magnificent tale, crafted by one of our favorite reviewers. I always admire her blend of the beautiful, with the macabre. Marvelous.

@Cathbad - Astonishing entry of war waged in outer space. Mighty star ships battle in destructive combat, on a massive scale. Fiercely fantastic, and frightening.

@Elventine - To be, or not to be... Doth the show go on? Aye. Especially if you're forced to preform in front of a blood thirsty group of alien abductors. Other worldly great.

@reiver33 - What a performance doc. What a performance! Mu-ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...(cough cough), excuse me. Mr Zunz has a tremendous stage presence. Diabolically Oscar Nominated.

@mosaix - I always admire the brave astronauts who risk their lives for humanity and science. I know I'd be scared, because our current space technology, is still experimental. Outstanding.

@ThomasG - Wonderfully written poetic tale that illustrates the nightmare of catastrophic doom. Eerie, entertaining and shockingly superb.

@Calliopenjo - The fear of being responsible for an important mission, with amny lives involved, can even effect the best of us. That's why I'll never drive a school bus. High marks.

Haha.

It is...

Oh....you're right.......

Awwww! Thank you! :X3::X3:

Firstly, nice to meet you. And second, you are very welcome. Have fun exploring the SFFC.

Thank you, Starbeast for the review. I had a friend that drove a school bus. It was stressful but she wouldn't trade it for anything else. She told me it was one of those you either love it or hate it things. She loved it.

I'm in. Like Mosaix I took a skewed approach to the subject.

Thank you Victoria, thank you Starbeast, for the nice reviews!
Starbeast, sorry that the thing is so sad...I'd gotten some bad news right before finishing it, and it turned the ending around from semi-hopeful, to very bleak. Should have waited a day to post! :)

Dilemma: To post my story as is and risk the concerns I have with it (genre mainly) or risk having my idea scooped and wait for a better idea.
