The Arabian Night's Tale

"Hey, Jeannie!"

A squeak came from inside the lamp. "How many times–? Genie, not Jeannie. Male. Very male."

"Sure. Anyways, I've thought of that third wish."

Silence.

"Yeah. I want to see the world."

Thoughtful silence. Then the lamp exploded. Dan left his stomach behind as he shot upwards on the shoulders of…something. Far below, the world spread out. With breath gusting like a tempest, the genie laughed. "That view good enough for you?"

The Greatest Ash

The seed from beginning, the first to the last,

With limbs spreading wide and roots holding fast

Time stretched from the future, way back to the past,

Life encompassed, all entire, in boughs grown so vast,

Growth through millennia, and growing still

The purpose is strong, and so is the will

From before living memory the role to fulfil,

Guardian of All, the Great Yggdrasil

Eons of care, myriad creatures caroused. Yet he dwelt alone. Until her.
~~
Cursed. Demon wed. This blind bliss had left her womb abrim with monsterous get.
Her blade would end all, afore her womb's curse awoke.
~~
Smite him? His hand stayed hers, gathering her hurt's griefs. Divine blood spilt flowered light that unblinded her.
~~

Her blade shattered.
She knew him. "Love!"
Dead?
