The 13th Doctor Reveal Thread

To be honest I half expected this ever since they softened us up with Missy and that General changing into a woman and started moaning how terrible it was being a man.

This IS completely impossible, unless you want to lock yourself away completely until the Christmas episode is shown.
Indeed, I was sent a BBC News alert to my smartphone, so not much chance of avoiding it until Christmas. I ask you, was it really "that" important? More important than the Wimbledon Men's Final winner? Or, more important that what the Chancellor of the Exchequer said or didn't say in Cabinet (only because the newspapers feel that was very important)? I put it to you that this is precisely why people bash the BBC. Pure self-promotion.

When I told the Farovnar that the next DW was going to be a woman,she said, "Good"!"with no enthusiasm at all.
Basically she couldn't give a monkey's about Dr. Who, and I thought that her reaction was probably quite right.

When Tom Baker took over from Patrick Troughton, or even more when Troughton took over from William Hartnell, we all thought,"Who is this. He's going to ruin it. Just look at him! Dr. Who can never be the same again."

So let's just see what the/a new actor makes of it. I predict something new and something wonderful. It's what we generally got before.

She's not an actress I know so I won't be making a point of watching the new series. I was the same with Matt Smith.

And the last Doctor I guess too. Time to make new shows then.

I think this is going a bit too far;

Well! I haven't been watching Broadchurch (oddly enough) since the American version fiasco, so I don't know who she is, but I'm looking forward to this!

I just hope the screwdriver goes back to being one tool of many instead of THE tool that solves every need and eventuality. It feels like a weak writers plot crutch at present with how many times it gets pulled out to solve everything.

Thank you. I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed that.

I don't know really. I thought it was going to be that fleabag woman and I'm glad that's not the case. Kinda of fine with the casting choice, maybe that's a male view but my other half hates it. She also writes and feels it is undermining women's rights as they can't come up with a female figure in her own right. I personally think this is a load of dingos kidneys. I do respect that taking a male character of 12 iterations and makig it female will need some careful writing. As my other half said, wait for the first boob shaking joke.

They've come up with all kinds of female figures in their own right. But a female Time Lord in her own show would just be a spinoff. Not that I wouldn't like River Song to have her own show, mind you.

People are already freaking out because now the Doctor is a lesbian.
