Discussion Thread -- October 2017 75-word Writing Challenge

@Starbeast .... Sinbad and the Isle of Living Horror .... Story #25 tells of sea voyage that moves from bad to much worse.

@Hugh .... Home .... Story #26 explains why coming home is both so wonderful and confusing.

@D.A. Xiaolin Spires .... New The Primordial Push .... Story #27 reminds us that we all began with a great salt water voyage.

Thank you! Though I suspect that in the future this might change! Perhaps we'll begin in silicon or plucked out of mulch. Doesn't have the same epic feel and romance of a salt water voyage.

I would suspect that this is a very far future vision, and maybe not even all that likely then.

@Clockworkbot .... The Deep Plain .... Story 28 takes on a sea voyage that ends in a long walk. Just what the sailors like to find at the end of a rough voyage.

@johnnyjet .... Upon This Marble Sea .... Story 29 reminds us that a treasure is only truly a treasure while you live. Death release both the treasure seeker and the treasure.

@Teresa Edgerton .... Where Late the Mermaids Sang .... Story 30 reminds us that, that which is unknown is most certainly unknown; sometimes having very unexpected power.

T.E. a story of mythic power and depth. Well done! Well done indeed.

Thank you for the review, bro.

Are you going to enter the 75 Challenge, this month? Just curious.

I am. I have a story written, I'm letting it percolate for a time, so that when I look at it again I will note if I've missed a word (like last time! GRRR!) or perhaps there might be a better phrase to use before I put it up. (Also I've been really busy or it might have already been done.)

Thanks for asking.

@SPoots Don't worry about the wrong genre with your story.
The majesty of that opening line.....
"The clock ticked it's way into the future" is surely more than enough to keep your tale in :)

@SPoots .... Untitled .... Story 31 reminds us that sometimes God's best answers to prayer is "No."

------

Parson is in with story 32. I hope a few of you enjoy it.

@Perpetual Man .... Beached .... Story 33 is a dirge bemoaning the loss of a magical time.

@Azzagorn .... Bone Voyage .... Story 34 takes a pun and makes it sober indeed.

It looks like the magic 42 is in jeopardy. This means I'll have to be ready for a serious influx in the last 24 hours.

Oh, I think we can probably make it. Quite a few hours yet, only need four more, and Abernovo, Dave Barsby, David Evil Overlord, hazelrah, Heijan Xavier, Mad Alice, nixie, Stable, The Judge, Travis Woodward, and Ursa major haven't yet submitted - and this is the most new contributors we've had for several months.

@TheDustyZebra .... Finding Nemo .... story #35 reminds us that you can run but you can't hide from fate.

@LittleStar .... For Now .... story #36 points to a great last journey sailed on the hands of love.

@mosaix .... Sun, Sea, Sand, Sex .... story #37 points us in one direction and delivers us somewhere else and much less predictable.

@Culhwch .... Salt and Sorrow
.... story #38 tells us a tale of longing and sorrow and hope.

@HazelRah .... Rendezvous .... Story #39 is a story of pathos and regret of a love unknown and now lost.
