OK. I Play with Toys

Maybe that's the point.

But a more evil way would be to weaken the strings. Rack the blade of a hack saw across them just enough to weaken them. Next time he tunes.

Why they broke!?

Whoa!

Awful Silence.

Puns intended: there is GREAT tension between the two siblings that is literally black & white--stay tuned, and this will one day make better sense.

I sadly don't have an excerpt of any of my pieces in the critique section. For two reasons mainly.

Family friendly, as well as nothing I have is in a full on draft state. Meaning it is fluid and being stuck in the countless improving the first chapter is not a way to go.

Most of my stories are not family friendly. I tend to go deep towards issues and I think there's only... yeah there's only 3 stories where the main characters haven't killed anybody.
One of them it happens towards the end of the story.

Once I am finished with the 1.5 draft of my steampunk story I'll post up a section and see what the world thinks.

However if anybody says I should change the setting to earth and a city like London or Paris I'm going to hunt you down and super glue your bathroom door shut.

I'll gladly send private messages to individuals.

I have two pages of comic text laid out on my phone.

I have a few stories I am working on currently as well as over 17 on various forms of shelving.

If you want to see a bit of my work feel free to PM me.

I play with LEGOs and still sometimes replay the same video games I played when I was 9. I have no intentions of growing up.

Hey - like the toys. Good idea. I'm someone else who has to run a film in their head for some scenes, so 3D models - cool.

And on the topic of 3D models - Julie Czerneda built a whole model village for her fantasy. Its now on Facebook.

Oh... yeah I'm reading that book right now! Neat.

I love the idea of creating your settings in a physical space. I draw a basic overview of settings sometimes - just to make sure what I'm writing is realistic and consistent - so actually creating them as a physical world is the next step up from that really. I imagine it'd help spark my imagination sometimes too.

In my novel, there is a war scene--a surprise air raid on a place called Penrose Harbor. The entire harbor and adjacent island were defenseless, because Pacifism had become a matter of strict obligation--the Pacifist Militia were allowed fire-arms and aircraft, but all ammunition was banned on the Island.

To write such a weird scene, I watched several films, including Pearl Harbor. I needed to "see" the action to learn how to "describe" the action in this difficult chapter.

Oh, they were also left defenseless, because the Governor had cast over half the island's creatures away from Hero Island on her hideous catapult contraption--deeming them unfit for society due to the breaking of her lengthy legislation! (hic & gulp).

Watching all those films was so helpful. It reminded me of looking at a setting or an object, and learning how to find the words to describe what is before you. Only, I was trying to describe intense, confusing, disjointed action! The films were really helpful in this.
