DISCUSSION -- OCTOBER 2018 300-word Writing Challenge (#31)

A title can also lift a story a little or give a twist on it, especially if it's a quotation or allusion of some kind. For instance, in my last 75 worder, I wrote about a double agent defecting and the risks he runs, but though nowhere do I mention where he's defecting from, I chose a quotation from The Winter's Tale of "Exit, Pursued by a Bear" which gives the broad hint that it's from Russia.

Aaaand now my title feels manifestly inadequate :X3:

Madcap? Not at all; it was just like your shtick towards the ends of any LonChron :D Which reminds me... when are the 3 of us doing another cocktail dive?

As for the challenges; I have nothing for this one (even though I love the image and voted for it) but I'm confident something will come. The 75 is presenting me with concept-bigger-than-word-count-problems. Essentially my title would have to be 400 words long to get the story into 75 words, but that's totally allowed, right? :D

And @Dan Jones check out my Pet Sematary thread in Films. I think you've seen a lot of the ones I've banged on about.

I keep meaning to try and attend one of these but not a fan of the Big Smoke.

We've got ten (or eleven) entries so far, but nobody's doing any reviews.
As I've mentioned previously I'm total sh*t at such things :(
However there are members who do a very excellent job of them - please regard this post as a 'prompt' for your good selves.

The Escape @elvet - An escape, by daring and stealth. From a realm where the escapee had no life of his own, to one of... who knows what adventures await?

Into the Styx @Harliebunny - She wants desperately to cross the infamous river Styx, but has forgotten to bring coin for the boatman. No matter - she has found another way! Ah, Stella, know ye not why those others are willing to pay Charon for a ride across?

Guanyan's Journey of Destiny @Cat's Cradle - The loss of a loved one weighs heavy on this one's heart. Is it not self torture to relive the horrid incident? At least the heart is eased by the thought of this loved one on her journey among the stars.

The Coming of the Duobei King @Rafellin - This wonderful fable offers so much to cause us to ponder, one is awed it comes in but 300 words! The Seer interprets the fire's embers in a manner that stills the fears of the citizens, of the coming of the King to collect his debt. The Songstress has a bit different interpretation of the King.

The terrible day the hell world portal opened to it's full width. @dannymcg - An escape! What fools thought to hold in such might? Death and destruction swims toward shore. Our Protagonist makes it first... More's the pity for those that had been responsible for keeping her at bay!

The Travels Of Sir Reginald Rigmarole, Part 94 @Dan Jones - You see, there's this guy who only wants to celebrate his recent liberation from a Nicaraguan drug lord, when... um... Wow... some really weird stuff goes down. Proving the press' dubbing El Boppo "The Most Hilarious Drug Capo in Nicaragua" is spot on!

Caelum’s Return @Luiglin - An unconscious space crew manages to write one last message for mankind. Proving beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Lord does work in mysterious ways!

Nets @Appello - Being forced to live enslaved is bad enough. When it is wrought upon those who have known naught but the freedom of the sea - it is doubly horrible! And for what? Experiments? The harvesting of things internal? What kind of life is this?
