Doctor Who (37) 11.02: The Ghost Monument

If they have sunk to those levels, I think we can soon expect the bottom of the barrel to be spotless.
Is that the Biscuit Barrel?

If so, as you've pointed out already, the biscuit dispenser will cover all shortcomings there!

Edit: Sorry, sometimes I don't see all the new posts when I click on a new post alert. Also, I never watch "next week" on any show. I think those trailers are the work of the devil. They completely ruin TV series.

I suddenly wondered why my name popped up in a thread I had not looked at, and now I know.

The old biscuit barrel still doing the rounds

Much as I would love to claim credit and royalties and compensation for the obvious, flagrant attempt to steal the concept, I need to point out that the fact that the biscuit barrel was dimensionally transcendental might work against me in any court case.

While I'm here, really loving the new Doctor Who, impressed that it is breaking records as far as the ratings go.

Like the new TARDIS interior, except the carbuncle, but think it is far too dark.

Loved the setting for the episode, I think it might have tied in with is post:

The Thread of Abandoned Places

Grargh. Ratings just reminds me the BBC got something daft like 8m plus watching the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix. I suppose if they just reversed the polarity of the neutron flow (and were within easy reach of BBC execs, like Wimbledon...) it'd still be free-to-air.

I keep trying to figure out what you people mean by "carbuncle". I looked it up, and it appears it's either a red gem, a pimple or a skin disease. I don't recall any of those from my brief look at the interior in last week's episode. It was yellow, with blue things.

I can't speak for the original posters but my understanding is it is a reference to the usage made in a speech by Prince Charles made in 1984
In a speech given for the 150th anniversary of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) on 30 May 1984, he memorably described a proposed extension to the National Gallery in London as a "monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much-loved friend" and deplored the "glass stumps and concrete towers" of modern architecture.

Two things

I've picked out the posts pertaining to next week's epsiode and created a new thread, copying TEIN's post that began the discussion.

I was referring to the Prince Charles pimple speech. Sorry, that got lost in translation.
