When I Google it appears planetwide is acceptable (and in fact the norm) but spell checkers all suggest planet wide as two words.

When you are bang on the 75 it makes a difference

If it's a compound adjective, e.g. "planet-wide storm" it counts as a single word, because the hyphen is necessary.

If it's "the storm was planet wide" it's two.

This is my 4th entry. So far, the idea and story come quickly, and usually I post it right away.
This month’s entry is done. I am just struggling with the title, and holding the story back has taught me something. Waiting is giving me a chance to tweak it, and as thrilled as I am to get the composition on the page, there is much satisfaction in pruning and nudging it into something more polished.

I copied my story to the post, then realized I hadn't thought of a title!! So, what you see, is all of 30 seconds' thought that went into my story's title. Oops!
