As for my own effort, I was surprised to to see a sudden flurry of votes (well two) at the end so thanks @Dr_R_Dizzle @HazelRah and @Ursa major

I hope everyone realised the game in question was Risk. I think I left enough clues in there especially given that it was originally entitled La Conquête du Monde.
