I finally saw it and I liked it well enough as entertainment, but found it in many ways to be underwhelming.

I don't see it as likely to spawn serious errors in people's minds about Tolkien and his works, though I don't think it's very close to the reality. It's not bad like the Shadowlands movie, which has promoted serious errors about C. S. Lewis.

On a similar theme, the wonderful Roald & Beatrix is definitely worth a watch.

I saw it. It was ok, worth a look
