Game of Thrones: 8.02 - A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

at least we'll definitely get some action next week... right?

If you mean a fight then yes. We finally get some action. I also thought that this gathering of all heroes is kind of unique, because there's all big ones and there's no other ones anywhere in the Westeros that we know of. They are all defending the castle against an invincible enemy that keeps coming until it's all over. I estimate there's at least two hundred thousand walkers coming their way, an undead dragon, a dozen giants and a few undead mammoths. The only thing that is missing is a wizard on Hero's side. Where is the magic wielders? Surely the Red Woman wasn't the only one.

Greyworm is screwed, eh? Rambling on about his life plans right before the big battle. Poor guy.

He might have a plot armour. He might get to say a line or two before he passes away.

I was thinking about who is going to die at the battle of winterfell, which led me to wonder if the night king is actually going to turn up. I don't see how he can and there be any kind of decent plot for the last 3 episodes. plus it was only his whitewalker buddies we saw at the end of this episode. I wouldn't be surprised if he sweeps past and rides south, leaving winterfell to his generals. it would also be a way to get Cersei into the battle against the dead. mind you without his dragon, the two living dragons should be able to toast the advancing army.

my pick of those not still with us at the end of episode 3:

one of the stark sisters (not sure which)
jon or dany, but probably dany
brienne
theon
greyworm

I agree.

List of characters to die next week.

Greyworm
Podric
Theon
Beric
Dany/Jon
Lyanna Mormont
Jorah
Brienne

Wild guess who will live to the end

Dolorous Ed
The Hound
Arya(to kill the Night King with the spear)
Tyrion
Dany/Jon
Davos(you cannot kill Liam Cunningham)
Thormond(he suckled at the teats of a giant)

Sansa to rule the Seven Kingdoms because she deserves it and is by far the most cleverest of all the characters left.

With Bronn as her Hand.

...mind you without his dragon, the two living dragons should be able to toast the advancing army...

Did you notice all of the WW riders at the end all had spears like the Night-King used on the first dragon he brought down? They seem to have come prepared with their Flugzeugabwehrkanone. That's flak cannon in white walker btw... okay, that's a lie but I'm running with it.

the more south the army of the death goes the bigger their army might grow as well. Unless you manage to kill of white walkers in the process.
Going south is a viable option, but it will need careful planning to avoid this.

What still puzzles me is the army of the dead not being able to cross water. How did the Iron Island religion came to fruition then i wonder?
Also can one not simply cross over to essos? Unless the Night King can freeze all that water, his threat ends right there. With Dorne no longer being connected to Essos for god knows how long. Maybe the white walkers can have their army build ships, but as they didn't do that to simply circumvent the wall... . And i guess now they can cross on dragonback as well.

So with the caveat that I am diabetic and may have had Easter chocolate when I watched and my partner Michelle who was sat on the same couch still insisting it never happened, was I The only one who saw Ghost?

In Bran's conversation with Jamie at the creepy Godwood tree, Bran asked Jamie how he knew that there would be an "afterwards." That made me wonder. Can the Three-Eyed Raven see the future as well as the past?
If he can, he certainly would have more strategic value in the battle with the Army of the Dead than being used as bait for the Night King. Putting only Theon and the Ironborn in charge of his defense makes the plan seem more like a sacrifice.

Maybe. The old one said: "You are not ready," when Bran took the reins. I assume it was about his powers and the purpose as a living god. I also assumed that he might be able to see some futuristic events, but he cannot trust them as anything other than dreams. But, if he would really be a seer then he could see exactly how the fight is going to unfold.

Maybe there is nothing he can do, it's just when you think about his revelation about Jon's past, I assumed he knows something about the future.
