May / June 2019 Anonymous 100 word challenge discussion thread

I am Spartacus.

I'll announce the winning entry tomorrow after the vote has closed.
But do you want to carry on the guessing game, or shall I reveal that too.

With the 300 coming next month, we won't be running a 100, so the guessing game can happily continue if you wish.

P.S. I don't think anyone has actually guessed the red herring correctly yet.
 
Blast, as June 15 approached, my life got a little too busy to get back to the forum and submit an entry, not even the prewritten one I'd asked about. Bummer - I love the challenge of writing drabbles. At least I'm not too late to vote!

For me it was a toss-up between "The Me, Myself, and I Mafia" (how'd you fit so many scenarios in so few words?), "It's Only Natural" (I fell in utter love with the first couple sentences immediately), and "Switched at Rebirth".

"Switched" eventually got my vote. The last line grabbed me good and hard - what an effective tone whiplash!

I'm way too new to this community to guess at authors, though. I'm looking forward to the reveal.

If you like, you can put your entry directly into this thread and we can all praise it or be unnecessarily cruel, depending on how we feel. ( :) As if we would)
You won't be in the running for the competition, but I'm sure we'd all be interested to see your work.
If not, there'll be more challenges to enter later.

So if you'd prefer to wait until the new challenges for July, that'll be fine too.
July has a 75 word challenge and a 300 word challenge but no 100 Anonymous..
The 300 doesn't have a theme and genre like the 75 and the 100 but rather a photo for inspiration. Have a look at previous challenges to see how they work.

I'm afraid that, in all fairness, I have to 'out myself' as the writer of "Only the best will do"
This is because Ashleyne correctly identified me but the comment by farntfar says Nul Points

Ashleyne has 1 point, and now that you've outed yourself Danny, we know which one.

I think it must have been because I was so incensed at being called Farntfat. :)

Furthermore Chris has 3 correct.
