Disney to reboot Alien Franchise

All these franchises get wrecked eventually. I agree that the first two are the best. The original, a perfect horror film, and two, the drama one full of great action and suspense. The rest are kind of meh, and I don't care much for the ones where they fight the Predators.

If a series goes on too long, we just get Friday the 13th quality bad, and that's not a good thing.

I enjoyed the first Alien Vs Predator film, but the second one, as with a lot of films now days, was filmed so dark I couldn't tell what the hell was happening in the fight scenes, but it was a poor film anyway.
Would it be nice to have a monster film where the creature and any fights are filmed in broad day light so you can see what is happening, now that would be a novelty!

The first AVP film was very entertaining. It was pretty cool seeing both together in the same film. The second AVP movie was absolute crap.

I'm still hoping someone will make a film of the first AvP Graphic Novel.
Set on a Desert Planet, there was a lot of Western action in it, as well as a halfway reasonable plot [and most of it was in daylight too].

Will we see Mickey succumb to a facehugger? Come to think of it, I thought Mickey was Minnie's very own facehugger.

The Second AVP I thought had an interesting premise, given that the Aliens were supposed to be biological weapons that could 'infect' anything.

I thought it wasn't absolute crap....but it was pretty bad. Piqued my interest then disintgrated quite quickly.

I was struck by how darker they made it. Children were attacked and died! The maternity ward was particularly horrible - although it didn't really make any sense.

I didn't know, I was blissfully happy. My totem animal...my baby. OW. What a shame!

But they should put a strong male lead this time then. After all the series originally had a strong female lead. Isn't that how theykeep a score? :sneaky:

I raise you this:

They had a strong male lead in Hicks but they pointlessly killed him off. It would have been interesting to see what Neill Blomkamp's planned film would have been like. That said, he made a short SF/horror film with Sigourney Weaver a while back that I didn't think was very good.

Venusian Broom, the maternity ward bit revived a very faint echo, there was a very good horror story I read somewhere where a maternity ward is attacked by demons, the demons are carried into the hospital inside the head of a serial killer who is locked up in the psych ward, they split his head open to get out, can't remember who wrote it!
