"A Pint of Bitter, Please."

And for something completely different - heather ale. Uses heather - thought it was instead of hops, but now seems to be as well as hops.
Love the stuff. Light, but not thin.

Thanks, Big Peat.

Minneapolis is 7-8 hours' drive (and I'd have to get a ride) from where I live, but thanks for the tips. I do hope Fargo Brewing Company will come up with a good approximation. Those people seem to know what they're doing.

So low to mid-50s Fahrenheit for serving temperature....

Yeah, I figured it more possible that you'd find bottles from them in the local-ish area than you'd go there yourself.

And hey, you could always try asking the local brewers if they've considered doing one. Apparently Pixeled does an English Pub Beer...

Does anybody remember "Beer At Home Means Davenport", my dad had this for a while, they would home deliver weekly in a six bottle wooden crate, this was in the sixties, I still have the crate (alas no bottles) but am afraid it's not in a good condition, at Sunday dinner (still have fond memories of my mother's roast beef or chicken) he would pour me half a glass topped up with lemonade which was called a shandy, all this with the Billy Cotton Band Show on the old valve driven radio before I was a teen, ah happy days!
It shows just how clogged up my brain is as I forgot one of the best beers out there, Newcastle Brown!!!

Nostalgic reminder of shandy has made me think of Top Deck. Alcohol for kids! Apparently it was about 1% strength. I preferred the limeade and lager one.

I'm wondering if it was called "Top Deck" because that was where the bad/cool kids sat and caused trouble on the bus.

I remember Top Deck. Seem to recall that the "thing" about the advert was that if you drank it you could crush the can...

Reminds me of two of my most favourite passages from one of my favourite books.

"Six pints of bitter.. and quickly please, the world's about to end".

And

Ford - "It's unpleasantly like being drunk"
Arthur - "What's so unpleasant about being drunk?"
Ford - "Ask a glass of water"

When I was about 18 I went into a pub in Chorlton, near Manchester, with two friends about thirty minutes to closing time.

We went to the bar and ordered two pints of bitter apiece - six pints. After a couple of minutes the bartender returned:

“Yes?”

Slightly confused but not too concerned “Six pints of bitter, please.”

A couple of minutes later the bartender returned with six pints. Two minutes later so did his twin brother!

I don't drink beer all that often but when I do Is usually Miller and I drink it ice cold.

Yep that's the baby I got in my t-shirt!!!

P.S. Don't worry about it Narkalui, nobody's perfect (lol) !!!
