DISCUSSION -- JANUARY 2020 300-word Writing Challenge (#36)

Just read through the stories and there are some absolute crackers (as always). It's going to take a while to narrow down to three.

Thanks for all the mentions, and for the votes elvet, SB, AMB, Daysman, olive, etaylor and ozmosis. They are greatly appreciated

Thank you for the vote, @Azoraa. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'm trying to get the entries read this weekend. Why do my days 'off' feel so short?

And, I have voted.

@The Judge has a writing style that is always entertaining, and the story she wrote this time was enthralling, showing a complete 'world' in 300 words;

@mosaix created a common enough predicament for a time traveller, but brought it to life with urgency, humour, and detail; and

@Phyrebrat has a talent for portentous horror, showcased here with an innovative twist on a classic theme.

All three stories grabbed me from the first line, and held my attention until the final full stop.

I didn’t get around to entering this month again. At the moment my time is so short, and unless I have a stand out idea I feel it’s better spent on my WIP. Maybe next quarter
But even not entering, I’m always happy to read the fine entries and lend a vote or three.

The Gibbo jury is in. As ever, very difficult to choose, so being a bit of strict with spelling and grammar helps.

From Hell's Heart I Stab At Thee - @Victoria Silverwolf
Not Long Now. - @mosaix
The Travels Of Sir Reginald Rigmarole, Part 94! - @Dan Jones - always a pleasure to read about Sir Reg

Here There Be Teachers - @Guttersnipe
For the Gander - @dannymcg - a delicious little tale
The Rise of Woman - @Phyrebrat

Well I could hardly fail to enter and to vote, could I? All right, I've been quite ill, but some things are sacred.

I'll try for a short lift, but Tuesday I spent less than an hour out of bed.
