DISCUSSION THREAD -- February 2020 -- 75-Word Writing Challenge

As I read your story, I laughed out loud when I got to the ‘two coconut ‘alves.’ Such a great image, and I see it fitting the genre and topic just fine.

thanks @elvet. I did actually have the theme and genre in mind as I wrote it but then when I re-read the story I thought maybe I had strayed. and i'm glad it made you laugh.

Done and up.

I had an idea and for once everything seemed to fit the bill, trouble was that I struggled to get the word count down to even close to the 100's. This is what I eventually hacked it down to. Not sure it covers everything anymore, but when I see it I see the full story, and that's good enough me!

Oooh dear, I've been so busy with other things (like finding time to read all of last month's 300s) that I've left my entry _waaaay_ too late this month. After reading up on the genre I'd assumed that romance wasn't compulsory but after all the comments at the start of this thread I'm not so sure. I _think_ I've got a couple of possibilities but whether they hit genre or theme...

Right. Cobbled something together using my second attempt, an idea I'd had knocking about since a previous challenge that hadn't come together back then. If you squint at it it _might_ be on theme?

@Shyrka .... The Chosen .... Shy points us to love's memorial sworn in eternal blood.

@Peter V .... With This Token of My Love .... Peter makes us wonder about love's object.

----------

This is shaping up to be another very nice month. We already have 40 posts and a lot of the posters who are typically late have yet to make an appearance. There are several stories that I find memorable!

I think my Muse Monster is hibernating.

This is a tough challenge for some reason. I've got an idea, but it ain't panning out.

@Marvin .... Quiet Love .... Marvin writes a love story of both seen and unseen love which lasts a lifetime.

@Alex The G and T .... Some Drink to Remember .... Alex set me up for a bleeding heart, and instead turns up a cup.

@LittleStar .... The Darkness Before the Fairy Tale .... L Star tells a true story of darkness and despair.

@Culhwch - Love, Eternal - A somber, bittersweet tale of the curse of immortality. I loved the poignancy of the piece, tempered with the practicality of making plans for her next relationship.

Whew, that is the absolute, utter closest I've ever come! It stinks to high heaven (ducks), but for a story that wasn't even a kernel of an idea ten minutes ago, it will have to do.
