A shared thought / how has this site changed your writings?

I should have a go at the challenges, but I struggle to get inspiration to work on tap like that. As well as specific bits and pieces, this site along with the writing excuses podcast has helped me to understand the long nature of the game and changed the way I approach it. For example, I know the story I'm working on now will likely not be publishable, which takes the pressure off. I still hope it is, but it takes a lot of the pressure and anxiety out of it to see it as one step on a learning journey, whether this one is published or one further down the line. My main aim at the moment isn't to write a bestseller, it's to get to the end of the draft, then when I've got that far I can take stock and seek feedback and begin the next part of the journey.
