Special kudos go to Cat's Cradle and Luiglin for interpreting the theme in similar fashion, and yet coming up with unique stories.

Vote goes to Parson for making fine use of the very difficult form of a parable.

Thanks for the shortlisting Lawrence Twiddy!:D

Great entries again as normal. Short listings for Ursa and Astro Pen with very fine entries. More than any other time I wish I had 2 votes for the winner. Cats Cradle and Starbeast , I thought both your entries to be worthy winners, but CC narrowly wins though with a great interpretation of the theme and perfect execution.

Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words, Victoria and paranoid marvin, and I greatly appreciate the vote, p.m.! :) It's all made for a very good evening surprise.

I will read and vote in a few days. Looking forward to reading all our stories, CC

Wow! Nice surprises! Thanks @sule for the shortlisting. And mega-thanks to @Victoria Silverwolf and @Provincial for the precious votes. I'm so pleased.

-----------

@Ursa major .... There Be Idiots .... The first rule of any battle is "Know Thy Enemy."

@Mr Orange .... Under The Bed .... Brings a whole new insight into the term "night terrors."

@sule .... We Dragons Guard Our Treasure True .... But do we dragons guard our true treasure?

I'm a bit late with my read through, but my first impressions are that there are a number of good stories, any one of which could win. I'll be back with a vote in due course.
