DISCUSSION THREAD -- JULY 2021 75 Word Writing Challenge

Well that came down to the wire - more so with me being in North Wales with on/off connections.

Thanks for the votes @chrispenycate @Victoria Silverwolf @Hugh @Daysman @BT Jones and @Lawrence Twiddy plus the mentions folks.

Well played to @mosaix and @The Judge for the close call, one I voted for and the other in my top 3.

To say we all have close relationships to our characters and stories is an understatement. They exist because we dream them up and for me at least they all have their own voices and thoughts.

I just wish that they'd get their act together so I can become published :ROFLMAO:
Well done @Luiglin. Hopefully the rain in North Wales hasn't put out your fiery form!!!

Congrats, Luiglin, and well done mosaix, The Judge and Hugh, for keeping it tight on the last day of voting.

Also, huge thanks to JS Wiig and The Judge for the listings... thank you, TJ - 'nasty' was exactly the feel I was going for. Just one of those months...

Thank you for the one mention my story received @BT Jones! You saved my honor!

(Although I should add that I did put that honor at risk myself by realizing on the evening of the 23rd that I hadn't entered the Challenge yet and then hurriedly wrestled a few words in an order that amounted, somewhat, to a story.)

(Which reminds me... wasn't there a 300 Word Challenge running?)

PS
(Don't you just love ellipses?)

Confession time, I struggled for an idea this month. We have a painting in the cracked pot of a sailing ship that somehow follows from every previous tearoom, causing mayhem, that is where my entry sprung from.

Was surprised I even got a mention never mind a vote.

Victoria also taught me something, Stendhal syndrome.

Well done @Luiglin

Many thanks for the unexpected votes from @paranoid marvin and @Ursa major This was another month I thought I wasn't going to enter because my muse was on holiday, then bang! my version of the relationship between Elric and Stormbringer ;)

And thanks for the mentions one and all

And thanks for reading

And thanks for entering

Congratulations, @Luiglin! A deserved win.

Many congratulations @ Luiglin

Thank you @ sule, @ BT Jones, @ Lawrence Twiddy, @ Mon0Zer0, @ Wayne Mack, @ nixie, @ Bren G, @ johnnyjet, @ farntfar, @ Abernovo, JS Wiig and @ Daysman for the mentions / listings

and @ M. Robert Gibson and @ Thiery for the votes

I hadn't planned on entering because my muse has been at quite a low ebb for sometime. I think that is reflected in my entry - I was more than happy with the quality of the writing and overall composition (I think that might be why it got a fair few mentions) but I also feel it was somewhat lacking in imagination.

I really don't know where some of you get your incredible ideas but please keep it up, these 75's make for some great reading.
