Units of Measurement

Is that the common European or the African migratory paper clip?
There is a story (I assume, an apocryphal one) about a large number of trombones being sent to an African country (one that was, at the time, either a French possession or a former French possession), with the explanation given that the French word for a paperclip is trombone.

I think I'm on safe ground suggesting that the African migratory paper clips involved in the measurement are not ones you can blow into.

I used to loathe that thing popping up, it was many months of having a pc before I learned how to get rid
I remember the sounds when that first came out. Loud sounds. Vented with passion.
S**t
F**k
P**s off
Then I got a cheer from the office when I found out how to turn it off.

I approve of replacing paper clips with trombones. Small bore or medium bore?

Okay, I'll admit I'm not understanding. But what's the difference between an African Paper Clip and a regular paper clip. I did a Google search and the best I could come up with is a paper clip with a tab of one sort or the other on the end.

@Parson It's a reference to the Bridge of Death in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"
If you can't answer you are hurled to your doom :-

There is nothing special about African paper clips, as far as I know, Parson.
It was a reference to one of the last scenes of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Edit: Ah. Danny beat me to the explanation.
