These made the cut:

The Labyrinth at the Valley of Itthil yo Lothiriel
because of the hopeless vibe that rings true to labyrinths.
The Better Part of Valour because I should have seen the ending coming and didn't.
Arrested Clarity because it reminds me of how my mind works trying to remember somebody's name.
Spectacular New Labyrinth Opens!” because it made me laugh.
Poor Minataur .... because it looks at an old story in a new way. "Lack of heifer" indeed!
At the Charitable Office of Medical Services for Displaced Citizens, Terran Branch because I've been caught in the same labyrinth.
Lost in thought because it seemed like a familiar pace to me.

I loved Beyond the Censor's Gaze - the description of clandestine conversation as a labyrinth is magical:
"If their technology could see into men’s hearts they’d find us in the labyrinth, dancing the secret ways, weaving deftly round convention and propriety like fall-birds circling ancient smoke stacks."

I realized too late that I could vote for two. My second would have been Byte Me - I could feel the computer's attitude :)

Lamebrains in the Labyrinth was the Hellraiser, Three Stooges mashup I never knew I needed. Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk, chowderhead!

Apocalypse Blues for some lovely imagery!

Top 5:

The Labyrinth at the Valley of Itthil yo Lothiriel - a time labyrinth

Man in the Maze - there’s always a bigger fish

** At the Charitable Office of Medical Services for Displaced Citizens, Terran Branch - bureaucracy at its finest

** The Adventures of Thoseus and Oriodne - some things are worth additional explanation

The guide - customer service purgatory

Many great entries as always. Lamebrains was very funny and gets my vote. Umbridge was also very well written and a great interpretation of the theme and gets my other vote.

Another good round. For a relatively specific topic, there was quite a variance in the stories.

Love it.It would also have made a perfect entry in my "Write in the style of" thread a couple of months back.

The Lost Book
How many dreams do I have that resemble that tale?
And how many times was I lost like that in the rambling corridors, halls and levels of Thorpes secondhand bookshop in Guildford?

Yes, I know I take forever, but ain't it good having so many entries?

I have ground my short list down to:-A Task Forgotten, Beyond the Censor’s Gaze, The Lost Book, The Better Part of Valour, No Clew, Umbridge on a station platform, Mirror! Mirror! and Was It Kismet? with votes for A Task Forgotten and No Clew. (Ihope I didn't write any of them).

Against that I have exactly one idea of who might have written just one of the stories - not a great start, but I didn't manage anything last time either.

That was a tough subject to squeeze into a hundred words - labyrinths need convolutions and false paths. Otherwise there's nowhere to get lost.

So, we need lots more voters, and time is limited - get into voting, folks, or, if you already have, get into bullying.

Shortlisted:

A Task Forgotten - How discouraging when your wife shows discontent until you get back with a pot of gold.
Orc Swords - An original and unexpected take on the theme Labyrinth and cleverly executed. A shame the author got stuck on 17 across. Clearly the word wanted here was shortlist.
Every Labyrinth Has Its Minor Tour - It reminds me of The Deliverator from Neal Stephenson's Snowcrash. It's not easy to be a pizza-courier, but it can be fun.
At the Charitable Office of Medical Services for Displaced Citizens, Terran Branch - Are all clerks in secret members of The Kafka Society, where they strive each month to win the Challenge of most elaborate Bureaucratic Maze?
The Adventures of Thoseus and Oriodne - who, unfortunately, got stuck in their first adventure due to A Shortfall of Communication.

And the votes go to......
Orc Swords - Crossword
The Adventures of Thoseus and Oriodne
