Bloody thing freaked me out! Still remember the faceless guy on the stairs.

Re-watched it a few years back and thought it held up well.

I don't think it was ever been on any station in the US.

It is (or at least was) showing on the best streaming service ITVX/BritBox, and is one of the scariest, most unsettling programmes to be shown on terrestrial TV (will never be the 'most', because 'Threads' will always hold first position). Unbelievably (by today's standards) the show was shown at 7pm, but back then no-one batted an eyelid, because spooky children's programmes were the norm back in the 70s.

In this series children were on peril just as much as adults, and there was no guarantee that any cast member would be safe. We soon fund out that Sapphire and Steel are not benevolent entities; they are tools sent to do a job, whatever the cost.

It will never occupy the spot as 'greatest', but it is very close. It is a tv series that ought to be watched by anyone interested in science fiction and/or spooky stories.

I found the series on YouTube, ive warthced episode 1 and 2. A very strange tv show , unlike anything else ive ever seen.
