Discovering fantasy

This sounds up my street too. Anyone read this author?
The series has not been continued after the first two books. And by now I‘ve lost hope that there ever will be a third book. The strangest thing is, though, that the author wrote a small novella in-between that one might call an interlude. And of all the books, this is the one I like best.
Yes, I’ve read the first two or three - very entertaining, with engaging fantasy animal characters. Perhaps best described as Kenneth Graham meets Raymond Feist, with amusing adult dialogue thrown in.
I‘ve read quite a few of them and I second the recommendation. Great stuff - very not-grown-up.

I always recommend the Deverry series by Katharine Kerr. It‘s celtic fantasy, it‘s great reading and it‘s a finished series.

Let me add Michael McClung‘s Amra Thetys books. Great fantasy adventure. The first one is The Thief who pulled on Trouble‘s braids.
