Strictly Wyndham-like SF -- is there any?

It's quite some time since I read either book, so apologies if my memory fails me here. Terry Nation's book of the tv series Survivors (which ends quite differently to the television programme) may be worth consideration.

Incidentally, the 1981 tv series 'Day of the Triffids' is well worth a watch if you haven't already seen it. Much better than the movie or the more recent tv drama.

I saw the 1981 tv series on PBS. Yes , it was very good indeed .(y)

But books? Really Wyndham-like books? I appreciate nominations made so far that fit the category, but -- more?

The hopeful estimate of human possibilities is exactly why I mentioned Station 11. It is technically dystopia and envisionages an end of the world scenario. But, like Wyndham, that doesn’t set the tone - rather it’s about people and how they pull together and, crucially, how they - we - are interlinked. And it’s all about hope, really, despite the scenario.

But it is modern, not quaint, and a completely different style
