Which books to keep?

We moved from a huge old Victorian to a row house after the kids moved on. Got rid of 90% of my books for lack of space. Gave them to a jail/prison program. The incarcerated particularly like SF and history.
I have the advantage that I live in Ohio, USA, which spends more per capita on libraries than any other US state. We have both local levies and state support. Why? Weird politics. Democrats support urban public libraries. Republicans rural & suburban systems. Great state supported interlibrary loan.
The moral is that either directly or through system loan I can get almost any book.

So. For those less blessed I would suggest ditching classics that are probably most obtainable should you wish to re-read. If there is a space problem be ruthless. Keep a few of your most beloved. But look at everything else with the question, "Could I see any chance of re-reading that in the next 5 years? And take it down to 3 years if anything is obtainable for free or cheap.
