Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - This is a change of pace for me, but I found it surprisingly enjoyable. I'm considering moving on to the Bronte sisters as well.
I tried this a few days ago for the first time, and didn't warm to it. So I'm watching the 1995 BBC series instead, which is wonderful.

@Bick
I'm only into chapter 2 so he's still scene setting, I'm enjoying the pace etc so far, I'll do a mini review if it proves worthwhile and readable
I've never read any of his belated sequels but what I have read has always been at least a bit more than readable.
From what I’ve read so far of Herbert’s non-Dune books, I think Hellstrom’s Hive is the standout.
I'd still put it second but it's been replaced by The Dragon in the Sea for me. I think you could easily make an argument for Hellstrom's as the more "novel-like" novel, though. Dragon probably should have been a novella, but I liked the clean style and character/plot simplicity with thematic complexity.
I'm considering moving on to the Bronte sisters as well.
Go for it! I've only read Emily's sole novel, but Wuthering Heights is impressive.

I've been plodding on with The Icarus Plot, the new book by Timothy Zahn, but it got too pedestrian for me.
Despite a lot of things happening and the bounty hunter protagonist getting into various fights it just didn't hold my attention - the writing style was like a dull recitation of facts.
I got maybe halfway through but I'm afraid it was a DNF for me.

I read Escaping Gravity by J.D. Sullivan this is a hard book to categorize. When I think of all the parts of the book there is nothing not to like, and yet it was a slog to finish it. I'm not sure if it's me or the book, but for some reason I did not connect with it. I'm not sure that this is a thing, but it seemed more like I was observing a story and was not invested in it, then actually being committed to it.

Not sure what I read next.

Strange Company by Nick Cole.

Basically space marine mercenaries who've been lab modified to have esp powers

Finished Only In Death, but i'm worried that series fatigue will set in shortly, so i've left the Ghosts for a while.

Currently reading I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, which has been on my TBR pile for a long time.
