D and D movie preview

It looks a bit like a fantasy version of Guardians of the Galaxy. That film was great because it had very good characters and some very funny dialogue. I do wonder (judging by the trailer) if there is perhaps a little too much humour in this one.

Btw I'm surprised that we never got a filmed version of Baldurs Gate or Planescape Torment - both of these have ready-made excellent storylines.

Ive rewatch the trailer few times. Line that make's me laugh, the red headed shapeshifter girl says to Chris Pine's character. " So ,you make plans that fail"? :D

Isnt that the American way I know I used to play Medal of Honor on the PC

This also looks poor enough to be good in a beer and pizza Mystery Theatre kind of way.
It is, I was just poking some gentle humour at our friends over the Atlantic.

Having coded html and css for years, I'm used to peculiar American English and their penchant for dropping or changing letters :)

But will they respell it for the UK spelling parts of the world?

P
They can't seem to separate Fantasy from history. Or in this case, a movie based on a fantasy RPG where your imagination rules because it's not historically correct...
Paramout is doing a live action D andD series too.

I have no idea what a displacer beast is but the trailer made me laugh so I'll probably watch this:)

It's basically Coeurl from A.E. van Vogt's "Black Destroyer", with a couple of extra legs.

The animated tv series Dungeons and Dragons made me fall in love with the concept of D and D . It was fun tv show , had pretty good animation , writing and voice acting. This show had heart a sense of humor and you cared about characters.

And had a great villain as well.

The music in the tv cartoon was great. It was done by Johnny Douglas who did feature films in the 60s and then was hired to do Hasbro cartoons (Gi Joe, Transformers).

But the thing about the series was the villains were taken seriously. There was no fooling around with them which was good because you could buy into the concept without having jokes ruin it. The humor mostly came from Erik (Donnie Most).

You can find the script for what might have been the final episode that was never made where Venger is revealed to be the Dungeon Master's son. The creatures from different dimensions return home.
I think they had planned to continue the series with the kids deciding to stay in the world voluntarily.
