DISCUSSION THREAD -- October 2022 -- 300 Word Writing Challenge #47

A good photo by ChrisG inspired a bunch of good stories, well done all.

I have to start voting before the final day. I always feel a bit bad on the last voting day if I break a tie. I will say that one of my votes was guaranteed as soon as I first read the story, very early in the posting phase, so had I voted on November 1, the leaderboard would likely look exactly as it does now that I've voted today.

Also, and in reference to something mentioned on the Voting thread, I want to say that a story doesn't have to receive a lot of votes, or honestly even mentions, to be successful. I've voted for three stories, and I'll shortlist another 9-10, but there were many more stories than the ones I'll list that I enjoyed. I don't think a story/writer has to be near the top of our voting lists to have succeeded in a Challenge, either from a storytelling perspective, or from a writing perspective.

Any-who, here are my lists (apologies, I don't have it in me today to write story recaps):

Honorables:
Rafellin, BigJ, VRlass, Luiglin, Astro Pen, Stable

Shortlist:
Christine Wheelwright, paranoid marvin, Daysman, Phyrebrat, The Judge

Votes:
Victoria Silverwolf, mosaix, Peter V

Thanks so much to johnnyjet, M. Robert Gibson, Starbeast, and Peter V for the listings (hope I haven't missed anyone).

Huge thanks to Victoria Silverwolf, Perky, Stable, and Astro Pen for the votes. :)

Tight race - I'm excited to see who will pull this one out, good luck all, CC

but just could not engage at all
Get well soon, seen that a bit -there seems to be a mental component to the virus outside of just tiredness that takes time to clear (based on randomly chatting to people ...so zero science).
