DISCUSSION THREAD -- FEBRUARY 2023 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Cheers for the vote @Luiglin !
And congrats to both sule and paranoid marvin. Was hard to pick a winner.
I ended up voting for 'A Mission to Savour'
I really liked these two lines.
"But hasn't it already been established that Earth's only natural satellite isn't comestible?"
"Try telling Geoff that. Said he wants to make 'really sure' this time."

Many thanks Your Majesty @The Judge for the stealth vote. I did one of those myself this round. Some months the stories just don't resonate with me (likely affected by my mood), so all I can do is pick the one that really stands out, which was @sule 's clever take on the brief.

Thanks, too, to @AnRoinnUltra, @Christine Wheelwright, and @THX1138 for the mentions.

Well as you know, with a tiebreaker here on the 75, the March challenge is delayed, and you can't start writing until Friday.

So why not use all that creativity which is straining to get out, and do an entry for the 100 word Anonymous challenge.
You know it makes cents. (100? Cents? I'll get my coat.)

Thank you JS Whig and finally Parson (yay!!!). I had a bit of a late run there but I was never going to catch the front runners. I have voted for PM again and the best of luck to you. It's nice to break my duck as I had a long spell with no votes, and while I suspect normal service will resume I have my fingers and toes crossed that this won't be the case.

I didn't know that, but with a short month maybe I should have known. Either way I can't decide if this is good or bad news, but if I do find myself in a tiebreaker next month then I have immediate grounds to go all in with Bowler1 manic behavior. Now there's a good reason to vote for me if ever I saw one.

I am only assuming that the March 75 is delayed; because until we know who the winner of the tie-break is, he or she won't be able to give the theme and genre for the next challenge.

And yes. I suppose that in a normal month of at least 30 days, a tie break could be fitted in before the end of the month.

Really tight in the tie breaker. I just voted for "A Mission to Savor" and the votes are now 17 a piece. Could we have a final tie? It's happened before.

Well done, paranoid marvin and sule, for reaching a tie-breaker! I listed sule in my top 5, so I'm going that way with my vote. Best of luck to you both, in this tight contest.

Big thanks to farntfar for the listing! :)

I usually don't say anything about my entries, but I will mention that I used 'waste' a bit differently than many of the stories... it was the wasting of an individual's potential due to addiction, and the wasting away of the bodies and Selves of those suffering addiction. I don't know if that came through (maybe the bleakness of the story was too much, as well).
Anyway, looking forward to the next Challenge, CC

Fully correct I'm sure, but given the opportunity (or making/taking the opportunity) to milk the situation to my advantage (or just milking it because I can) then I fully intend to do so. Now you know me, I'm not a trouble maker and I'm always reasonable in my demands, but lost time for creativity is still lost time that can't be recovered. We're all going to be under additional stress and strain next month to get out our very best 75 word creation and some of us may find this additional burden too much to carry. I can feel the vapors coming on already and I think I need to lie down for a bit and recover.

The stress... the stress....

Congratulations, paranoid marvin!

Thanks to BigJ, BT Jones, emrosenagel, AnRoinnUltra, and Yozh for giving my entry their vote, and thanks to paranoid marvin, johnnyjet, Cat's Cradle, Shyrka, and JS Wiig for giving it a mention! It was honestly way more than I expected, and I'm thrilled to have come in second.
