DISCUSSION THREAD -- MARCH 2023 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Nice try, Bowler, but we know you lionise wardrobes, but we can't agree which one(s) you like the most....

Bren G: A heartbreaking tale of wasted effort.

Axovan Sol: A vivid portrait of the fortunes of war.

Peter V: An ironic study of a disappointed character.

Lawrence Twiddy: An unromantic account of the Old West.

chrispenycate: A subtle story of chance.

Ursa major: A cynical look at scheming.

Many congratulations to Phyrebrat and apologies for being away from the computer for a week and missing the vote.

I've been caught out.

I'm off to the April 75 word thread as Bowler1 steps through/into a wardrobe.

As much fumbling about - sorry, that's just a wardrobe.

I'm off to the April 75 word competition and this time, well... it's another wardrobe.

To hell with this, and Bowler1 uses a very sensible time portal.

I would give Phyrebrat a gold studded wardrobe for an emphatic win, but as I've been zapped into the future and I'm not hiding behind any sofas, he is out of luck. But still the winner, so have a pitchfork that just happens to be in close proximity to a sofa, and ideally... ignore all sofas.

Apologies Chrons, missed typing a shortlist due to self imposed pressure to record and publish chapters of Nancy G. Whoda thunk publishing would eat into the writing/ reading time;) In place of a shortlist here's a sort of thought one each entry -@Peter V got my vote but there's no doubt the winning entry was a touch of class (and another point for the Chronscast crew). Well done all and best of luck in April.

Congratulations, @Phyrebrat. A well-deserved win for a great story.

Thank you for the votes, @Axovan Sol, and @C.Robin.
Some of you may have picked up the playful nod to another Chrons member in my story, one whose goodness is a bit more assured than mine. As it happens, the inspiration came to me whilst listening to Glen Campbell's Witchita Lineman. The idea of a communications engineer keeping the lines, or comms relays, working really appealed to me. As Bob Dylan once described it as the greatest song ever written, I'm happy to admit I really like that song.

if Anderson is not part of the solution, then he's the precipitate.
She might be at that. But I'm always aware that, once I post something, the story is yours. You can interpret it, see it in your mind, and understand it as you will. :)
