We're doomed!!!

Most were scenarios that ... are very, very unlikely. Nevertheless, Black Swans do exist!
There is a vast difference between the occurrence of black swans, creatures that exist but are rare, and that of paisley swans, which are only imagined. AI programs do not have intents, malevolent or otherwise, towards humans or anything else. Machine Learning does not involve the creation of new ideas; it is merely the statistical repackaging of things. In the case of ChatGPT it is mostly the repackaging of word order. This is one of the reasons AI has so much difficulty in drawing hands. AI running rampant is not a black swan event.

Also, there’s a pub called The Old Swan in Paisley, a town which also has actual swans

At some time in the future there will be a threat that ends the world as we know it.
My bet is on a really big rock from Space long before Skynet decides to off us.
But if AI is a threat, it won't be because they thinks us amusing. We will be the glitches in the Data that need to be eliminated.

Nature could suddenly turn on us and , we might get a sequel to the big box office block buster The Permian/Triassic Extinction Event.

The most powerful computer programme cannot think, since thinking isn't reducible to a series of yes/no relays.
Way better put than I could ever type. I don't get the AI thing, it's just machines running code to me. Like when programmes suddenly became apps -it's still only lines of instructions ...I recken I could get my head around it better if it had a different and novel name (F.E. Fontogular Espontulism?)

The Permian event (245 million years ago) was the most extinct of all time nearly 90 percent of everything that living on Earth died The event was cause by long eruption phase of chain of volcanos in what is today Siberia which increased Carbon and sulphur , the later acidified the the Oceans . In all, his event lasted about 60 thousand years. Global temperature rose to over 160 degrees . A few degrees higher and the Earth would have gone runaway greenhouse much like Venus .

Neurons, however, also operate as binary, yes/no relays. Action potential - Wikipedia
[I've been researching this for more current story in progress.]
Sure, but thinking isn't reducible to neuron activity even if memory and imagination are. But I really, really don't want to go down that rabbit hole as it would mean defining abstract concepts and how they cannot be a product purely of biological activity since a cause must be commensurate to its effect. Nobody would understand what I'm talking about (you need a philosophical background to get the point) and nobody would agree with me anyway. It's one of the great blind spots of our age. Nah, let it go.

I wonder if the super advanced computers are practicing to get their dialogue correct, as in - I'll be back!
