DISCUSSION THREAD -- AUGUST 2023 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Congratulations Johnny and well done to both.

Do I have to back fill the bear pit of decorum, it's quite deep and will be a lot of work I'd rather not do if I'm honest.

I do want to thank those who originally voted for me, @sule, @Parson, @AnRoinnUltra, @Victoria Silverwolf, @Teresa Edgerton, and @emrosenagel, as well as those who short listed me, @Peter V, @Bren G, @paranoid marvin, @Christine Wheelwright, @Hugh, and @Cat's Cradle.

It's always a thrill to win a challenge, even though I only enter for the challenge to myself and for the fun of it. Amazingly this is my second win this year! Before that, I'd won only 2 other times since I started entering the challenges in 2012.

Thanks again! Now everyone get ready for September's challenge!

Not necessary! You can save it for the next tiebreaker challenge. I'm just glad it didn't come to that.

Well done @johnnyjet , deserved winner

For my effort, I was hoping for a few mentions but not expecting many, if any, votes. Why? Because it was just a bit of daftness that made me laugh (is it wrong to laugh at your own stuff?) When it comes to voting I try to go for a story that has a good 3-act structure - setting the scene, bit of conflict, resolution - that sort of thing - so I probably wouldn't have voted for my own piece and which is why johnnyjet deserved the win.

Anyway, thanks for all the votes in the tie-break. You know who you are even if no one else does ;)
 
I found the field much too close this month to easily sort into a short list that wasn't almost everyone, but in the end my vote went to @Yozh . Once again: Thank you everyone for the monthly SFF flash-fiction anthology, it was very much enjoyed!
