The lost art of the credit sequence

Thinking more on this, wasn't the opening credits to The Prisoner the best of all - the whole story, music, car and style?
That sequence was superb. The storyline itself was completely inscrutable to me, as a young teen! But that didn't stop me staying in every week to watch it. It was fascinatingly weird and science-fictiony.

Amazed no-one's mentioned the original Dr Who title sequence from the early 1960s. Some incredibly innovative optics effects, and electronic music from the BBC Radiophonics Workshop. I remember it being utterly otherworldly.

The opening scene for each of Christopher Lee's 'Ghost Stories for Christmas' set the atmosphere up perfectly.
