A card trick

Can someone with a deck of cards handy ( @Provincial maybe) give this a try? I don't have a pack but people say it works.
I'm intrigued to know if it is something like the Monty Hall problem.

Not sure I believe that is self working until I have tried it.

Very good though. A pity he does not give the author and title of the trick.

I dont think this is the same thing as the Monty Hall problem.
