Dale: As far as I know, these were not revised in any way; Ellison himself, in his introduction, indicates as much, as well as his ambivalence about reprinting them in the first place. I think the latter is a bit unnecessary, but I also think the bulk of the stories here are among his weaker ones, even from his earlier career. "Battle Without Banners" is an exception, as (in some ways) is "The Sky is Burning"; but what makes the collection interesting is the comparison of the original short story version of "Soldier" with the original screenplay for The Outer Limits (altered somewhat for the final shooting script), and his introduction, "Where the Stray Dreams Go", which is a very nice glimpse into some of those odd visions which either didn't come to fruition, or ended up taking a very long time (e.g., "The One Word People" became a part of the later "Try a Dull Knife")....
