*sigh* yeah its tough.

Remember, we want to make it pleasant being here for everyone... And there is no place for harrassment... ;)

If it continues, I'll take her to one side and give her a good "telling off"... Just give me nod when it all gets out of hand... I will expect a poem about all your loveliness will be posted in the Aspiring Writers area, shabily disguised... But we'll know it is about you... :D

Ask her yourself, I been here and known her for about a week and she said she has forgotten how to read, she cant concentrate.

Coincidence? I think not. :)

*Ahem!* Topic... ;)

I think the next Batman film should be a version of The Long Halloween. Harvey Dent, bit of the Joker (Mark Hamill should be given the chance, imo)... see how the gangsters get pushed out by the freaks.

Would be class.

So I've just heard that Heath Ledger has been selected to play the Joker in the next film (friends source is IMDB apparently).

I'm in serious shock, can't see him as the joker at all!!!!!

I'm afraid the rumour is true ... Heath Ledger is set to play the Joker with Christian Bale as Batman. :(

All the news wires carried it today. I saw it while scrolling through for foreign news stories. The movie is to be called The Dark Knight.

Christian Bale will be back as Batman/ Bruce Wayne, joined by "Batman Begins" director Christopher Nolan, whose brother Jonathan, will write the script. Jonathan Nolan previously penned the screenplay for 2006's "The Prestige," directed by his brother and starring Bale, and wrote the short story that inspired Christopher Nolan's 2000 breakthrough "Memento."

I heard about this just the other day, apparently both Johnny Depp and Robin Williams were turned down in favour of Heath Ledger (who is friends with the director).

Both Depp and Williams approached the director for the part rather than he approaching them so they must have wanted the part!

I would have gone for either of those two over Ledger, I just don't see it. First of all, the Joker has always been protrayed as an "older" man, Ledger isn't this, secondly, I just don't think he'll cut it as one of the most notorious villains ever!

I'm not sure anyone can beat good ol' Jack Nicholson though, I loved his take on the Joker!

xx

Well keep hope. After seeing Mark Hamill as the boring goody two-shoes in the Star Wars movies I wouldn't have imagined him as a good voice actor for the Joker either but he came out pretty surprisingly good. Anyway, given how completely bored I was with the yawning meandering itinerary that was the Batman Begins movie, I don't have too many expectations on Batman Continuezzz or whatever

I don't know. I can see Heath Ledger in the role of the Joker. I just keep seeing that grin he used a couple of times in 10 Things I Hate About You. I think it fits. But, Johnny Depp could have done credit to the role as well. Robin Williams...love him, but I'm sort of afraid of what would happen if he were let loose on that role. Nicholson hammed it up enough.

I would have loved to see Depp as the Joker. he'd have taken that ball and run in some odd directions with it. Am not sure about Robin Williams but am sure he'd have given the Joker a whole new face.

I really love Jack Nicholson as the Joker and that's the image that always comes to mind when I think of the character. He pretty much stole the movie and had the best lines.

I'd give Ledger a chance and see what he can do with the role. Batman Begins was pretty dark and brooding and if Dark Night follows that trend it'll be needing a very different Joker from that of Jack Nicholson.

CNN Reported that the second Nolan directed Batman movie will be called The Dark Knight. I think Ledger could probably do a good job, I just have never seen him do anything overly wild so it's hard to see him as the joker but I've enjoyed his work and wouldn't be surprised if he does a good job. I'm of the opinion that Batman Begins was the first Bat movie to really really get it right. I was glad they ditched the burton continuity and started over staying more true to the story.
