This was such a hot topic over on Kate's forum I thought I would include it here.

Who do you think will be the next Pura Candidate????

Wickman was loyal and a good fighter at the end of book five, but that doesn't make up for all of the nasty things he's done. In fact, Sanglant went down a peg or two in my eyes when he chuckled over the rapes that Wickman has participated in.

I'm not sure who I'd pick for the next pura, as I'm not quite sure yet whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. I'd say Hugh would be a good candidate, if it's degrading enough. He could deal with a little of that.
 
I can not stand the thought of Hugh making love to a beautiful woman, who is powerful. It leaves a very nasty taste in my mouth... He does not deserve such a treat!
 
Damn why can't I keep away from this forum...I've only just finished book 2 so I've no idea who the Para is...Discovered that the one character I want to die a slow and horrible death is still alive and prospering...oh well heres hoping that Hugh is hung,drawn,quartered and burnt at the stake in book 7:D
 
Wickman is an obvious choice as he remains in the story for no real purpose. Ivar is the blindingly obvious choice, though Vellum's son is also on the cards. Basically in as many words - I don't know. I would like to be a candidate though.
 
I think Alain is the pura - It kind of makes sense in my head
 
I'm in the last book and what I see right now, I would almost say Stronghand but I know that's not right (and no I don't know). I still say Wickman!!! I forgot about Berthod though, he would be another good guess.

Berthod? Oh the Villam child...Maybe, my money is still on Alain...Kate Elliott is a romantic - After all, who ever said Adica was dead? I may be wrong but to many things slip together right this way.
 
I still think the story aint closed on Adicca, as Liathano loved her so much. Alain as the pura would be interesting. Stronghand is a little strange though as I am not sure about their mating abilities.

The mating abilities are off which is why I find it hard to imagine it would be him.

I am almost convinced that it is NOT Alain. Why? Alain is not meant to be a slave, used merely for sex which is why I lean toward Wickman. What comes around goes around.

As far as Adica goes I believe she is dead. :(

Ivar's in love with Liath...I think in any event Baldwin is in love with Ivar so maybe...Maybe not? This is a really tough question. It could indeed be Wickman, but I will still go with Alain and Sorgatani being Adica and thats the reason she cannot leave the tent...

Maybe a poll would have been good, as there are a lot of possibilities that could be right.
