Imperial Spy

Thanks for the feedback, Cocob3an-xx. It's always nice to hear from people who have enjoyed reading my work. Glad to hear that the state of disaster has been rectified! It was an interesting day at your school. After watching Dr Who at the weekend, I'm not sure I would have liked to walk your corridors in the state they were in last time I was there!

I hope you enjoy Assassin. I'm fairly confident that you will. :)

Mark,

I hope you'll be pleased to hear how popular your books are getting: I was on the London Underground last night, following some meetings in London, and as I was chatting to the colleague I was travellin with, I noticed that the woman behind him was reading a copy of Imperial Spy! The front cover is very recognisable... :)

I think that means you're now officially famous! :D

lol!
I'm hooked once again by your books! I read darkweaver again, and I just have to read the Imperial Trilogy!
And I noticed a review on Amazon comparing the books to the Alex Rider ones...that is good!

I think the implication there is that comparison with a similar author will encourage readers of Alex Rider to take a look at Mark's (unarguably superior) books.

ok so im really late at posting my opinions about Imperial Spy, but i dont often get a chance to increase my collection of Mark Robsons books.. its pain stakingly slow!!
but i just finished the book and loved it!!
kinda makes me want to become a spy really!!!
ive read some of the comments about danar, and i must just say that femke and i are similar ages and i loved the fact that she goes through real girl situaions (perhaps you hafd some help from a lady there?) danar was the prince charming most girls of my age are totally infactuated with, and are so amazingly thrilled when they show intrest.. but like femke we all realise that there is more to them then charm...
malo was fantasic, and even though i thought a couple of times he was a weak and poor king, he prove dto be quite he opposite!!
by the by, i love the names of the charectors.. where did they come from?

Glad you enjoyed Imperial Spy, Lilly. The names came from all over the place. Femke is actually Dutch. I heard the name first in Cheltenham when I signed a book for a girl called Femke. I liked the name so much that I asked her if she would mind me using it for a character.

Many of the names are made up, or combinations of names in common use. Some were left overs from my previous series. I'm afraid I didn't really think through the names that well beforehand, as I ended up with far too many characters and places whose names started with the letter 'S'. This was partially due to my ill-conceived idea that people from Shandar did this to honour their god - Shand. I won't make that mistake again. Some of the sentences ended up a bit like: She sells sea shells on the sea shore!! :)

Hi! I came across your book in my school library and I decided to read it. (The blurb + cover illustrations are great!) I've got to say it's a great book!
I like how you weren't afraid to kill of one of the main characters where as some other author would be in case people didn't enjoy it. Of course I was sad when Danar died but it made the story even better.
