Finished! (No spoilers, because the blooming forums deleted my post!)

So far I've picked up a smattering of in-jokes, or at least what I think are in-jokes. A 'Fever River', though that may have been mentioned in earlier volumes. Did I see a ship called Nightflyer as well? Then there's Brienne's shield....

Okay, I'm done. Finished off the last hundred pages last night, even though it meant staying up to the wee hours. Paying the price for that today, but simply couldn't put it down once I'd got into the closing section. (That in itself is not unusual, I often get that way towards the end of a book).

Are we allowed to talk about it yet? Or should we wait for our friends over the water to finish?

P.S. Didn't get the gag about Brienne's shield. I will go scourge myself in shame....

Not really a gag, more of a resonance.

I say feel free to talk about it, but unless you want to be lynched, plaster your thread titles and posts with spoiler warnings eighty feet high....

Thanks for that, Culhwch... It seems I can't stay away from this board, so I'm trying to be careful not to read any spoilers. That whole Margaery and Cersei thread tempts me every time. I really wish I didn't have access to a computer right now.

Arya, move away from the Margaery and Cersei thread.

Keep moving, there is nothing to see here. Go about your business.

Seriously, don't give in to temptation, you WILL regret it. And I would hate for anything to diminish your enjoyment.

AryaU: speaking as the person who started it - yeah, that thread will SO spoil you. Stay out.

Of course, saying that just makes it even MORE tempting. ;)

Can't wait to get into the nitty gritty detail's of AFFC with everybody... finished it in four days, which for me, is incredibly fast considering that I work long hours.

GRRM has not written better... some may deem this book as weaker than others because of the missing POV's, but the material that is there is INCREDIBLE. Somehow, this book felt more personal, with GRRM really flexing his gift for characterization.

Finished it, and it was brilliant. Certainly not the dissappointment I half feared it would be. Didn't really miss the other the characters, there was enough to keep me interested throughout. Just about every word was perfect. Many surprises, good and bad, but even the bad ones were good... I'm just so sad it's over. Now, onto those spoiler threads....
