Supernatural

The power behind Supernatural is the story arc. The boys have joined the big league this year. Season 4 rocks!

Episode: Family Remains

Holy CRAP!

I'm a big tufty bloke but I just had the bajesus scared out of me with the latest episode, a-la people under the stairs!

SPOILERS to follow....

I hate suspense, mainly 'cause I've got to watch, but don't want to, but got to aaarghhh!

People running through the house, popping out of closets, looking like something from 'The Ring'.
The last few series had a couple of comical episodes but the boys are back to form with this chiller of a story.
Worst part: where the girl's in bed with hand hanging over the edge, thinking the dog is licking her hand. It ain't the dog!

That episode scarred me for life.

I swear, when her brother came out from under the house, I jumped eighty feet.

I mean..it was just horrible. And scary.

I don't know but I think the girl scared me more.

Kids and demonic possession etc scares the crap out of me. Weird clowns (Stephen Kings IT) does the same.
I guess it's innocence being tainted or subverted. I just saw an advert for the film The Children.

There's not a chance I would watch anything like that.

Did you see the Supernatural killer clown episode yet?

Yeah, I don't like clowns. They are creepy.

PS: And I always kinda liked Dean better, but in this last season Sam has the whole darkside jedi powers, and thats kinda hot.

Huh. I just started watching this, but I will definitely keep at it. Those two guys are supernaturally attractive, if nothing else.

No I haven't seen the clown one yet DG. Not a particular subject that I would normally rush to view, but you just kind of sense that the Supernatural writers and cast will handle it just right.

You're starting to sound a lot like my better half in regards to the Dean and Sam 'debate'. First it was Dean; dark, bold and moody (Sam was just a little to righteous early on in the series). Now Sam seems to be taking on the tall, dark and moody persona (with a hint of something special thrown in!).

 I put my foot down and told her to 'for god's sake stop wittering and make her mind up!'

It was then she said 'I think they're both as good as each other, so I'll take both of them!' BOTH! Next time I'll just keep my mouth shut when it comes to you ladies and your eye candy :( :D

LOL Her and I can trade weeks and share, that way neither of us has to choose! (tee hee I'm naughty)

Although, I've noticed that since Sam has gotten darker demon killer, he's got this whole angry Elvis lip thing going on which is kind of...odd....and he's way more disrespectful to people than Dean is on his bad day. Dean's got this whole bad but good thing going, and that's so why Dean's my favorite. Plus, even when he is all dark and cute and angry demon blood sucking, Sam is still kind of a whiner. Dean's not.

I can only comment for my own particular view and I agree that Dean is more a man's man (ahem ). Not that I agree with you and the missus sharing the boys! Guess you'd be the 'Winchester Girls' then ;) Wow, a whole new series beckons.

'whole bad but good thing going' - doesn't make sense, but know exactly where your coming from LOL. I think one of the good points is that the characters are so strong and seem to gel well together (the porn connections that Sam kept mentioning about every comment Dean made in one episode, I thought really made them seem like a couple of brothers/friends out on the road).

Then your lady and I would be like, psuedosisterinlaws? LOL. Mind boggling.

I sat and watched all of the first three seasons in sequence (I do that for my 'me' time) and I noticed also that in the beginning, they didn't have that vibe, obviously cuz they were new to one another as actors and as characters since Sam ran away to be all smart and whiny. But, in the last season and this one, they are really showing how they've grown as actors (with one another I mean) and as characters of brothers on the show.

Sad because I know this season or the next will be the end of the series.

Then what will I watch? Best not to think about that!

Sorry DG; work beckoned.

Pretty sure the 'Winchester Girls', would be too raunchy or 'naughty' if you prefer, for any syndicate to pick up anyway :p

Don't know about the ending of the series'. Yes I will miss it, but then again if they do it well, then it will a true classic; instead of trying to go on too long or just as bad being axed without being given the chance to round up some of the storylines.

Who knows, TV?DVD films to follow?

Like with Farscape, ending in PeaceKeeper tv flick...that would be OK.

I always almost wished they would do one with Angel.

Uh-oh, could be in trouble here, but I didn't watch the Farscape or Angel series' as much as I should have!

Farscape went around the time of Dargo(?) and his son having a spat over the blue lady.

Angel around the time of joining Wolfram and Co(?). Although I remember Spike coming back.

I thought Farscape was awesome until the bitter end! Although I admit I enjoyed the first three or four seasons more than the later ones.

Pretty much.

Farscape battled Peacekeepers won and had their half human alien spawn baby.

Angel and gang took over Wolfram and Heart, Fred got turned into an ancient awesome bad ass demon goddess, and then the Apocalypse happened and they all were like 'yo, lets kick some butt' and Angel was all 'Huh. I always wanted to slay a dragon.'

End scene.

I wanted to see the dragon!!!!!!!!!!! Thats what irritates me.

If they push Supernatural past stopping the Apocalypse, they will destroy the show. However, they could probably get one more season out of it---this season they are trying to stop the seals from being open.....so I don't know how far they can carry that. And, if after they stop the 66 seals from being open and there is no more Apocalypse, and they just go back to driving around hunting ghosts, it will be totally lame.

But they could use this season to stop the 66 seals, and the next season to stop Sam from being all BOW TO ZOD MORTALS!

I think Supernatural has been outstanding since the beginning. It's been better with each season as the story develops, but it looks like we should plan on five seasons for the show. I found this on wikipedia -

"Series creator Eric Kripke has stated that the series' storyline is planned out for five seasons, and that he hopes to end it there on a high note"

It's frustrating when they end the good shows, but I suppose it's better than when they draw them out until there is nothing left to give us. My fiancé and I would also agree that Farscape rocked as long as it was on the air.

DG and Rothgar, regarding Supernatural.

I do not want God to turn up in the storyline, or Lucifer as I think this would ruin the show. I do think it would be cool if you had a higher Angel come down and do some major bad-ass smiting (like the Archangel Michael (sword and shield in tow )). It would be good to see Alaystar get his butt kicked.

As there are more than 66 seals, but only 66 need to be breached, I think the story can continue along this track with some kind of realisation that they are not going to stop the seals being broken unless they directly confront and have a showdown with Lilith! However, the effect of taking out Lilith will have to have some kind of effect of re-sealing the seals.

Also, if Lucifer was an Angel who was cast out, maybe something similar can be done to Sam (who has demon in him) by Lucifer(?) Wow, now I would accept a little cameo by Lucifer if that were a particular storyline :p.

What I don't want is the death of a Winchester, that would suck!

I don't think they will try to 'show' God or Lucifer, since its said a lot in both the demon and angel discussions that very few, if any, demons or angels have seen either. That red headed angel girl who lost her grace said only four angels have ever seen God, and I remember ruby or someone saying something about Lucifer never being seen so demons have to take that on faith.

There are 66 seals that need to be broke and 666 in all, and no, they don't know which ones lilith is trying to break. If it doesn't have the impact of resealing the seals, mabye they could make dean go around and do it?

I like Alaystar and Lilith. They rock. I like Lillith especially, she's so darn cute, as far as psychotic demons go. So far Alaystar and Lillith have been my favs because they are the most unhinged.

I don't like Ruby, she's a conniving one, I'm pretty sure she's going to have a much bigger role in the battle for sam's pretty little head, and not a good one.

I might go for the whole Lucifer showing up thing if he's de-demonizing Sam, but I don't know. Its so 1980, you know?

I don't want the winchesters to die either!

Hey! What's wrong with the 80's. There were some great shows I couldn't wait to get back home for:

Knight Rider, StreetHawk, Manimal, A Team, Airwolf LOL :p

Just thinking that if the guys had to go around re-sealing, it would go past the scheduled 5 seasons. I would also expect that to stop the opening would require such a good storyline that following it by going around cleaning up the mess would be an anti-climax (?).

I don't think Ruby will turn bad. There may be a good storyline where she may be killed off with a sacrificial kind of angle (could send Sam over the edge opening a can of whoopass of epic proportions ).

I just want some kind of ending where there's been an amazing battle, the guys have won, get back in the car and say something like:

Well what do we do now?
What we do best, kick demon butt!
Few moments where they look forward, then they both turn to each other and say "Let's get a beer first!":D

Now that's an ending that would guarantee me buying all episodes/seasons!

Dude I totally miss Airwolf. I have Ateam and Knight Rider on dvd somewhere for the kids but I couldn't find airwolf. I loved that show!

And, I was going more for the movies, in the 80's they always showed lucifer. OK well in the movies I watched.

It might get kind of boring watching them reseal everything knowing that, holy crap they just stopped Lucifer, so how much harder can life get? Although I'd probably watch it for their cute little butts anyways lol.

I don't know about Ruby, I'm leaning towards bad. Real bad. She is the one that taught Sam how to...wait, I dont know if you've seen that episode yet...but she was smiling, big poop eating grin, like she knows she's got Sam right where she wants him, and he couldn't see her smile because he was busy with...something...

PS: if you remember the Hellhound episode, the first one not the Dean one, this is the young man who they talk about that was a blues singer way back in the day you tube video.
