Raymond E. Feist Riftwar Adaptation

Hey khan, i've been a fan of your sketches for some time and now i see that you've found some magician comic stuff.
Are you involved in any way.
i have to say i don't like Tomas's parents much, everyone seems so angry and brutal.

Ghostshell my friend I'm happy to hear that you like the artwork, and yes we are adapting the Riftwar series and I hope that it will be a wonderful experience for you.
Me, I'm Ernst, the President of Dabel Brothers Productions who puts out these graphic adaptations of our favorite authors. Thank you for your feedback on Tomas's parents. Please if you have any more feedbacks don't hesitate to post them my friend :)

Here is the sketch of Fantus the firedrake, enjoy :)

I'm liking Fantus and whilst on subject of feedback...

I, too thought Tomas' parents were rather harsh. That never came across in the book, I got the impression that they loved Pug as if he were their own son, just that Megar was a bit hot headed at times!

Fantus is lovely though, I want a Firedrake!!!!

xx

I have to agree with everyone the pictures are wonderful. Also I thought Megar and his wife were a bit angry looking as well as Borric. The book does portray Borric as being stern but with a sense of humor. Looking at the picture again I think it is the eyes more than anything. Hope that is not to presumptuous of me.

Adasunshine my friend, I'm happy you are liking Fantus. The colorist colored him a beautiful dark green that is absolutely beautiful and his underbelly a soft cream color, it's really nice ;)

You are right Tomas' parents love Pug, you will see this in the future pages ;) One important factor we had to consider when doing this scene is the comic book fans who never read the novels before and who will be reading this for the first time, I had a handful read the five page preview and they were hooked right off the bat and wanted to read more :) Our goal is to bring the comic book fans to the bookstores and at the same time to bring bookstore fans into the comic book stores.

Yeah, I agree having a firedrake would be really cool!

Lissa my friend, I'm happy that you like the art :) For Borric once you get to see the pages you will see that he is more stern and less angry. Oh and you will get a bit of humor from him as well ;) No, it is not presumptuous of you, I encourage feedback from all the fans and that is how we can make this adaptation the best that it can be.

It's good to see the characters authoritatively drawn. I'm not a huge fan of anime or cartoons but definitely interesting to see coloured representations of people that have been in my mind for so long. :)

Fantastic! You've just converted a die hard fantasy book reader into someone that reads graphic novels. I'd never given graphic novels a second glance as the majority tend to have a sci-fi theme but am delighted to see someone adapting one of my favourite books. Fannon and arutha are exactly as i imagined them when reading the book and the colours are amazing. Thanks Khan.

Wow! I am blown away by this. Is there any way I can get a copy. More than willing to pay :)

Sparrahawk my friend, I'm happy that you like the artwork, thanks also for the support. I've put the sketch of Macross the Black for you below for your enjoyment ;)

Hey kahn, its great to see someone with as much talent as i've seen from you in the past going into something that looks and sounds to be so great.
I have to ask, being from the UK, is there going to be an international thing or are we going to have to wait for the graphic novel version over here.
I ask this because devil's due, did dragonlance and i was never able to get the comic over here, i've slid out of comics over the years but always return for things like warlands and this. It was quite a shame when i heard that DD where sold out completely of dragonlances first 4 issues.

So, sorry off on a rant there, is it just the states getting it for now or what? The only comic retailer here abouts is Forbidden Planet and they didn't get much of the dragonlance, i'd be gutted to miss this.

Thanks, chris.

Chris my friend, I'm happy that you are excited about what you see. My artists are hard at work to make sure that this will be a wonderful experience for you. Well, my company did the Legend of Huma, if that is the series that you are looking for you can email me edabel@dabelbrothers.com and I'll mail you the first four issues. I think I might have some copies left, I'll check, but I'll make sure you get it.

I encourage you to bug your comic book retailer to order it for you, but if that doesn't work, please contact me and I'll make sure you get your copies. Thanks :)

Best Regards,

Ernst

Rahl my friend, thank you for your support, and you will be impressed once you see Tomas in his splendid armor ;)

Many heartfelt Thanks for the offer Kahn, i think i would be taking advantage though. Just let me know when the Graphic Novel format comes out.
I'll take your advice with my retailer, thanks again.
Though, i'd remove my email if i were you, you might get undue emails from people if you leave it.
Thanks.
Chris.

Ghostshell my friend, you're welcome. For Dragonlance: The Legend of Huma there isn't going to be a Graphic Novel. I checked and I have a couple left of issue one through four so the offer still stands if you change your mind :)
Thanks and have a good day.

i like the look of him though he does seem to resemble tomas a bit, i suppose it will look different with colour though.
Comic is still looking great and i still can't wait.

Wow! this is very cool, is there any way io can get my hands on this in the uk? do you know if any uk distributors do your stuff?

I really like this, think they all look very good and almost how i imagined them.
