Are all new stories endless?

Ricardo Pinto's Stone Dance of the Chameleon books (the long-delayed third one due out early next year apparently) got seriously slated in the States for the same reason. Seems to be more of an American thing. Here, these things go by without eliciting as much comment.

We're prudes in the states bub...dont forget it was all your religious zealots that founded this country.

I know this is an old thread but I thought that you guys might appreciate another suggestion for an excellent novel to read. Elantris by Brandon Sanderson is not only an amazing book but its also a stand alone novel with all the right elements. It's his debut novel and I hope that you guys get the chance to read it.

Thanks for the post, I'll look it up.

I still check this thread for suggestions, so enter away, people.

I have Elantris waiting to be read, and chatted with the author briefly over on another forum when he was posting there (he's a big fan of Steven Erikson). Interesting guy. It's not out in Britain, but I picked up an import copy from Forbidden Planet in London [namedrop]when I was there for the Scott Bakker signing.[/namedrop]
