Do hoe do people think are going to be the most important race for the sgc:
Asgard, Tollen, Nox, (the people from Torment of Tantulus, foget their names). What do you people think?

Right now I'd have to say Asgard. Thor seems to be on our side and appreciate what we can do for all the most. I'm not going to give away stuff that you'll learn in Small Victories, but he seems to have a lot of pull with the rest of the Asgard.

Um.. i thought he was probably dead. Guess he lives then :) (i hoped he would).

Maybe we should make a button - Thor Lives.
Sorry forgot that was in Small Victories.

Mythinglink in your defense we all knew he was alive (except Padders he was napping :)...
Sam pushed him through the gate in his floating pod thingy wotsit, just before the end of Nemesis I seem to recall.

For me it's got to be the Goa'uld.
Let's face it the Tollans, the Nox, and the Asgard given the oppertunity would all stay @ home quietly minding their own business if it wasn't for the Goa'uld.

Chances are that the Ancients and the Furlings (Haven't met either race yet but perhaps soon) are of the same inclanation.

The only thing that really seem to fire them all up is the Goa'uld, they just like causing problems, their socilal structure is apparently similar to that of Barons where they are internally jossling for power. And they are opportunists, if they think they can get away with it they will try e.g. the attack on the Tollan home world.

They are a powder keg... and remember old Apophis is out there ... Somewhere :) with Sokar's old army. What was it Selmak (Jacob Carter) said "It's ten times larger than we thought."

They are going to be a pain in the Nic'da, but I suspect the Asgard will help us when necessary.

The most important Race to the series - The Goa'uld.

The Most important race to Earth - The Asgard.

I must have been napping (although in his chamber (in my defense) he was acting pretty dead ie they needed to treat him did they not?
Anyway....

Goa'uld - most important threat to Earth. Have we really got any other significant enemies who are likely to come and attack? i don't think so.

I wonder how important the Goa'uld really are to everyone else though or how much of a threat they are. They certainly do not seem much of a threat to the asgard, they can just come in and teleport them all whenever they want. The problem for the asgard seems to be a lack of resources/ships. It seems the replicants have done a lot of damage to them (what was the ep when they said they could not help much as they had a far greater threat on their hands).

The Nox are threatened by the Goa'uld I am sure although their technology is advanced i wonder if they could win a direct confrontation, i doubt it. Not so sure about the Tollan.

How can you distinguish most important race to Earth and the Series. If by series you mean the stargate universe i don't think the Goa'uld are as important to the other races as they are to Earth. Other races have been there for hundreds/thousands/hundreds of thousands of years and somehow managed to survive in the same space. Earth has only been there for about 2 years. I think the Goa'uld are what will determine the course of events for Earth with hopefully the Asgard intervention to help as some time.

wow... what a lot of waffle :)

Well, ya'll have a point. If it wasn't for the Goa'uld, the SGC wouldn't be out there. They were closing up shop, as it were, when Apophis showed up and took that female airman.
Goa'uld and Nox, well I'm not sure if the Goa'uld could defeat the Nox. You can't hit what you can't see. And if you don't have weapons, which the Nox seem to be able to make disappear with regularity, then you can't hit at all. Which was one thing that kinda bothered me a bit. If the Nox just deal with illusion as Lea said, then the SF guards in the Gate room still had the darned things in their hands - right? She just made them appear to disappear. Does the illusion also extend to 'feeling' as well as sight? Forgive the ramble.

True but i wonder if the Nox can stop a couple of hundred mother ship from dropping "planet buster" type bombs. If they have no planet they have a problem.
And they only have 1 planet don't they? (i know city is not on the planet per see but..)

MythingLink

There is that. However what's to stop them from making the Gate invisible along with themselves and just merrily waltzing through it to someplace else if that occurs. I'm sure they have enough allies out there - the Tollan, the Asgrad, and the SGC that would take them in while they search for a new world.

About the first few posts, I thought he was dead too because Thor didn't know if the stasis pod was safe due to the bugs tampering. As Thor had also said before, he had looked on our planet with great interest. I guess it's kinda like us thinking that he's cute (pet wise) and stuff.

I dont trust the Nox. I mean any race who says they are non violent but then goes and hides a cannon so it can blow a ship to pieces. As Jack would say "come on people, wake up and smell the coffee" What differenct does it make if you push a person off a cliff or trick them into walking off a cliff........

SGPflughaupt

No the Nox didnt have a cannon, they hid a Tollan cannon from the Goa'uld so they wouldnt sabotage it. I dont remember the ep title...the one where Skaara gets freed from the Goa'uld infesting his body.

MythingLink

Which is why Carter brought up the point about Lea walking 'a fine line'. <G> I think there are a lot of ways to be considered pacafistic and she just used one. She didn't actually use the canon, just hid it from view so that it couldn't be destroyed by the attacking Goa'uld. The Nox could be considered conscientious objectors who, basically, refuse to bear arms. Doesn't mean they won't hide them. <G>

I see what you are saying like conscenious objectors who become medics in wartime.
FYI,you know a consc.obj. has even been awarded the Medal of Honor (he was medic too).

Sean3w

See the only problem with her doing that shows that she is a pacifist. I mean she didn't know who was the real innocent. No matter what you can say about this, Lea isn't a pacifist or else she wouldn't have done that at all. If you truly believe in something, you don't get that close to the opposing line.

The most important race has to be the Tauri. Ok so their not an Alien race but thier new presence amongst the stars stirring things up has shifted the balance of power. How many system lords have been defeated by SG-1? etc. The Asgard obviously see them as future saviours/allies etc. Only the nox and the tollans are arrogant enough dismiss the Tauri but I wouldnt be suprised if they end up requiring our help at some stage :)
So whos the most important .. why its us :)

:p
