Who is going to be most important race?

Us and the Asgard in a final alliance, using Daniel's "meaning of life stuff."

the nox .... neutral race and very peaceful ..

but ... they helped to steal us the host of klor'el *arrghhh*

The most important race!

Come on people. It can only be one. For us it is the Goa'uld. Whitout them we would be gate jumping and having a good time!

Kel Sha, Geronimo and a Loud shout out to Apophis and Klor'el (your alien friends),

Aren't you in possession of a goa'uld? Aren't goa'ulds snakey as well as sneaky? Gosh! They you can vote any way you want! Even for yourself and your goa'uld race!

Just a thought! (since I am right!)

Kree sha,

jsc

*LOL*

ok -- then my vote goes by 100% to my home race the goa'uld ...

kree sha

Kel sha everyone,

Love them or hate them without them it would be a very different show!

Kree sha,

Granny LOLLOL!!

Potentially the most important could be the Tollan... their technology is exceptionally advanced: communications, walking through walls stuff, ion cannon, weapon disabling beams, Goa'uld control vest thingies etc. Oh yes - and building their own gate!! :alienooh:

We may assume that this is also not the peak, but a general selection of their knowledge. So if they were actually pushed into a corner they would presumably be able to come up with some REALLY advanced stuff.

Or, perhaps they will actually turn out to be either the Furlings or Ancients, or fairly directly related - they seem leaps ahead of Goa'uld, since they can actually develop, where the Goa'uld basically just nick it all.

However, I agree with other posts: the Tau'ri are the basis for pretty much the majority of Goa'uld seeded/terraformed planets in the nearby galaxy: and hence or otherwise provide the Goa'uld with servants, Jaffa and hosts. We are also becoming a nuisance to them on a number of of occassions: including the deaths of at least three system lords (and a fourth who was later revived). If they are following classical Egyptology, there are only 9 "gods" in the Ennead - so keep going and we should dominate by the end of series 6 or 7!! ;)

The Nox so far are staying neutral, whilst the Asguard are almost a galactic police-force. Every assumes they have the power to stamp, so everyone is basically nice to them and behaves in a polite manner.

So - despite being technically perhaps the weakest race, and coming from a single planet with arrogance and naivety, we seem to be kicking butt!

P'Teppic,
The Tollans will be in Season 5 and have problems but they certainly have some interesting technology and that does make them pretty interesting potential allies.

Alas I have not even seen S4 yet, but can't wait for S5!

The points are still valid, from others as well: how come, despite our effective naivety and technical irrelevance, are we the ones who are able to make such an impact on so many worlds for various reasons?

As per "Shades of Grey", the various higher civilisations already communicate - shouldn't they be really worried by the sorts of things "we" are getting in to?

A thought: B5 had the original "First One" show up.

What if we were able to speak with one of "The Ancients"? That could be the vehicle through which many questions were answered.

A good MOVIE theme, dontcha think? :rolly2:

Perhaps to answer my own question, and prompt further discussion:

a) most importantly in terms of all the planets SGC seems to be visiting - we know the Goa'uld are not gods, and are happy to tell everyone we meet; as Tea'lc knows, denouncing your God is not an easy thing to do when he is standing in front of you with a ribbon-devivce which clearly demonstrates his/her power. The locals generally have never had the impetus or opportunity to even think of rebelling, and therefore of improving technologically beyond what the system lords allow.

b) we do have some bottom of the range technology such as firearms, grenades, gas etc. which is still effective against certain Goa'uld scenarios - and for some is better than any Goa'uld technology

c) we are extremely imaginative and inventive, especially under stress, where the Goa'uld are implied as stealers only, and therefore lack the developers flair

d) we are also vicious little buggers when put in a corner, whilst at the same time exceptionally emotional and almost always care for our own first; though this often gets us into trouble first!

we are also vicious little buggers when put in a corner

yep, that's us!;)
